Let's Party like it's ...Christmas!

Just three weeks until Christmas and party time is definately here. Thursday was the social event of the year, The Ray Clark Breakfast Show team Christmas meal - the small, but dedicated team on Planet Ray gathered for a traditional Christmas Pizza.

A 'really special' party

Not our breakfast team do - but a far more important event that I was lucky enough to go to with Natalie. Every year The Presidents Sporting Club and The Essex Disabled Sports Foundation organise a really special day for nearly 1,000 children from special schools throughout the county.

This year's event was held at North Weald airfield in a special marquee and I went along to announce the very special winners of this years awards. In some cases these awards are for things that many of us might do without thinking, but for some of these youngsters it's a huge achievement.

Ray with Althea

Sarah Claxton's mum loves Planet Ray

The kids loved the dancing, great entertainers, meeting animals and bopping to a great Boy Band. But a whole host of sporting celebs were there too, and they were all brilliant as they presented the awards:

Big Frank Bruno was joined by another former world champ boxer, John Conteh, Essex motor racing driver Fulvio Mussi was there, and a whole host of great Olympians: Sarah Claxton and her mum Althea (Big Planet Ray fan), Rower Acer Nethercott, Marathon man, Eamonn Martin, and Paralympian gold medallist Anne Strike, and then there was Essex and Zimbabwean cricketer Grant Flower.... and our very own TV star Natalie Wood.

And yet another Party

The official 'works do' here at BBC Essex is yet to come, but on Thursday The Ray Clark Breakfast show Team met up for our Pre-Christmas festive pizza.

As always we were setting a good example by having very little alcohol on the table, everyone was well behaved ... our bar bill listed nine lemonades - and a Tia Maria, I really can't tell you who was drinking that ... not me though!

Get Stuffed

PANDA is back from his travels after a real good cosmetic surgery job in Yorkshire... who needs to go abroad !

Claire and Panda

Back in one piece - just.

Back in the early part of the year the team noticed that Producer Ali's childhood teddy needed a bit of a make over after being loved to bits... literally.

As news girl I have my finger on the pulse when it comes to 'Planet Ray' contacts and so sent him to a talented friend in the north.

Panda has now returned to the Hodgkins-Brown household via the breakfast show... just in time for Christmas.
