Zimbabwe marked 30 years of independence on Sunday, with celebrations at the national stadium in Harare and elsewhere across the country.
The initial celebrations in 1980 took place at Rufaro Stadium in Harare's Mbare township, with a Bob Marley concert and great hopes for the future.
But 30 years on, is there much for Zimbabweans to celebrate? Steve Vickers went to Mbare township with councillor Paul Gorekore.
