It's now just over two months since Goodluck Jonathan became Nigeria's acting president.
The country's head of state, Umaru Yar'Adua, has been seriously ill since last November and spent months in a Saudi Arabian hospital before returning to Nigeria in February.
Mr Goodluck Jonathan is currently in the United States for President Barack Obama's Nuclear Summit.
In his first BBC interview since becoming Nigeria's acting president, Mr Goodluck Jonathan told the BBC's Jamillah Tangazah that he has not spoken to his ailing boss.
