Ulster centre James Hume admits his side's performance in Friday's 59-26 defeat by Montpellier was "not good enough for a final" as the Irish province's bid for Challenge Cup glory ended in dejection.

Montpellier ran in nine tries in a dominant and powerful display to condemn Ulster to another year in European club rugby's second-tier competition.

Hume also admitted that seeing friends and family after the game inside San Mames Stadium made his crestfallen feeling "way worse".
