So that's it from us today.

There is still plenty of action to come in the club game - especially for those in England and France - but Wales have selected their summer squad for the Nations Championship.

After getting a much-needed win against Italy, they will hope to enjoy a victory against Barbarians to lead into their key game against Fiji, which is followed by tough trips to Argentina and South Africa.

Head coach Steve Tandy has named a 48-man squad, which you can see in full in the story below.

For now though, it's time to bid you all farewell.

    Thank you for your company!

Really shocked to see Sam Wainwright in. (He's) third choice at Cardiff. I know we lack depth in the front row but that is hardly international form

Away from international action, the race to secure the final play-off spots in the United Rugby Championship is about to reach its climax.

Cardiff are among the contenders to clinch a top eight spot heading into the final day of the regular season.

That said, Corniel van Zyl's men have a tough task ahead of them as they host Stormers at Arms Park on Friday (19:45 BST).

Here's a closer look at who needs what to secure a play-off place on the final weekend of the campaign.

Gutted for Rio Dyer. One of the form wings and just the kind of athletic back we need, plus good in the air, which has been our weakness.

It's nice to see Harri Keddie get a chance.

I played with him as he was coming through at Dragons, before I retired.

I remember him looking really promising back then, and he's been a bit of a stalwart at Rodney Parade.

It'll be interesting to see how he and other newcomers like Kane James, Bryn Bradley and Ryan Woodman get on.

Can they prove themselves in the training squad with their attitude and endeavour, and put their hands up for that first game against the Baa-Baas? It's certainly a great opportunity for them.

  6. Tight-head Lewis returns to add experiencepublished at 15:45 BST

Dragons tight-head prop Dillon Lewis earns his first call from Steve Tandy.

The 30-year-old suffered a calf injury in October but returned in April.

He gets the nod ahead of clubmate Chris Coleman to join Keiron Assiratti, Sam Wainwright and Ben Warren in the squad.

His experience probably helped get that decision given that Wales are giving a break to Tomas Francis after his Six Nations return, while Archie Griffin is having surgery.

Lewis toured Australia in 2024, while his last cap was in the World Cup quarter-final defeat by Argentina in 2023.

The former Cardiff and Harlequins man has won 57 caps.

Angus O'Brien has been the best full-back in Wales this season. Also surprised that exciting Macs Page doesn't warrant a place - from an Ospreys fan.

    Jim, Port Talbot

Not a bad squad but I'd have added more experience in there. We need to aim for at least two wins for this campaign to be successful for us. Anything less will be a step backwards.

Attack coach Matt Sherratt has some thinking to do after convincing Steve Tandy to pick SEVEN centres in his squad.

Joe Hawkins replaced Ben Thomas to finish the Six Nations alongside the impressive Eddie James.

Max Llewellyn got the nod in the autumn but then suffered an injury to miss the Six Nations.

They are joined by Joe Roberts, who came in to face the Springboks, plus two promising prospects from English clubs.

Bath's Louie Hennessey won his first cap against Ireland while Harlequins' Bryn Bradley comes into the squad.

Seven centres and still the likes of Owen Watkin, Johnny Williams, Nick Tompkins and influential uncapped Dragon Aneurin Owen miss out.

  9. What about Ross Moriarty?published at 15:33 BST

I thought Ross Moriarty might've been included after coming off the bench for the Ospreys against Scarlets at the weekend.

There seemed to be a bit of momentum behind him, a lot of people pushing for him to get back into the squad.

Good to see Tommy Reffell back, though - a lot of people were gutted that he wasn't in the Six Nations squad and have been calling for him to be recalled.

  10. The club breakdownpublished at 15:28 BST

    Wales summer squad 2026

There are 14 players from English clubs in the squad plus Montpellier lock Adam Beard.

The 33 players from the Welsh clubs are split like this:

    • Cardiff - 12
    • Scarlets - 9
    • Ospreys - 7
    • Dragons - 5

A caveat to that, there will be some movement over the summer with Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake going to Gloucester from Ospreys, Dragons are losing Aaron Wainwright to Leicester while Tom Rogers is swapping Scarlets for Ospreys.

Overall, really happy with the squad. A few are maybe in last chance saloon, but great to see Jac Morgan, Reffell and Llewellyn back. There's a few who are very lucky to keep their places, probably owing to a lack of depth in their positions. Hopefully the inclusion of Kane James will be the first of many young players who are English based but are choosing Wales.

  12. Baa-Baas experiment incoming?published at 15:16 BST

Bryn Bradley has had a run of starts at 12 recently for Harlequins.

He played alongside Louis Hennessey quite a bit for Wales Under-20s.

So it'll be interesting whether they stick with perhaps what's become a more established partnership with Joe Hawkins and Eddie James for those three Nations Championship games.

But I do wonder whether they'll experiment a bit more for the Barbarians, we'll see.

  13. Wales confident over injured key figurespublished at 15:13 BST

Steve Tandy confirms that he expects the injured brigade - which includes Dewi Lake, Tomos Williams and Teddy Williams - to be fit and available for the Barbarians game.

"We wouldn't have picked them if we didn't think they would be available," he said.

That's it for the live section with the Wales head coach, who now heads off for a chat with the written press.

  14. Tandy on Keddie and Reffellpublished at 15:11 BST

    Wales summer squad 2026

    Wales head coach Steve Tandy:

On Harrison Keddie: "Harrison has seen some tough times with the Dragons but has come through it.

"He is an unbelievable trainer and is physical on the field. It's a great story, but he is an outstanding rugby player as well.

"It's exciting to give him the chance to show what he can do. It is an opportunity he has earned, it's well deserved."

On Tommy Reffell: "Fair play, he has been so positive about how he gets back in and what he needs to do.

"We have some top-end sevens and it was great to have the conversation to let him know he is in."

    Wales head coach Steve Tandy:

"It's a huge ask for the players, but an exciting challenge. We are trying to grow the depth of the squad so we have the ability to change it up.

"It's coming to the back-end of the season and it's making sure we get our work done before we leave (for Argentina)."

Tandy also confirmed he will trim the squad after the Barbarians game on 27 June.

Wales are yet to appoint a captain for the summer.

    Wales head coach Steve Tandy:

"It's having a really good think now the squad has been announced. We have some really good young leaders coming through.

"We have Jac Morgan, Dewi Lake, Dafydd Jenkins, Tomos Williams. We'll have a chat with the boys."

    Wales head coach Steve Tandy:

"It's different with everyone coming in staggered, it gives us the chance to look at some different players."

On Kane James: "He's Welsh and he's a very smart and focused man. We are excited by how motivated he is to play for us."

On Bryn Bradley: "He's a big, athletic man and adds to competition in a competitive pool."

    Gareth Rhys Owen
    BBC Radio Wales commentator

If there was one clear area of improvement during the Six Nations, it was the scrum.

In recent years, Wales have struggled for depth at tight-head in particular, but the return of Tomas Francis helped steady the set-piece, while Archie Griffin grew into the role with each Test.

Now Francis has been rested and Griffin is injured.

Ben Warren travels for experience, leaving significant responsibility on the shoulders of Kieron Assiratti and the returning Dillon Lewis.
