Our penultimate final of the evening brings English boxer Demeji Shittu into the ring to compete for the men's 80kg gold medal.

The 24-year-old from London is the world number seven and has already secured Commonwealth Games silver but is targeting his first major title.

His opponent is India's Ankush Panghal, who is 11th in the world rankings.

This should be a good, close-run fight.

England's Jamal Petgrave might look a little disappointed to have relinquished the Commonwealth Games gold medal he won in Birmingham in 2022, but he will at least be on the podium again.

He takes the first bronze medal in the men's -90kg category, bringing down New Zealand's Noah Wallis right at the end and is greeted by cheers inside the SEC Centre.

The medals keep coming for Wales and for Emma Finucane.

She is back out at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome to pick up her gold medal for the women's 1000m time trial.

This is the third time Finucane has stood at the top of the podium during these Commonwealth Games.

Australia's Claudia Marcks is the silver medallist and Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand gets the bronze.

This was a new event for the games having previously been over 500m.

Newly-crowned gold medallist Kelly Petersen-Pollard has been describing what it means to have beaten Australia's Aoife Coughlan to win the women's -70kg final.

"I'm chuffed with that. We are always fighting on the world tour," she told TNT Sports. "I fought her literally a few weeks ago and it went to penalties and that time she won, and now me."

"It's so nice, especially after Birmingham [2022 Commonwealth Games], I wasn't as happy as I could have been getting bronze, I felt half like I disappointed people, even though I didn't and now it's such a nice feeling."

That is a second gold of the week for the Australian.

A decent silver for Nicholas Paul.

It is not to be for England's Harry Ledingham-Horn.

Tayte Ryan holds him at arm's length throughout and the Australian takes the bronze medal with a powerful sprint to the line.

Not content with just having fighters involved in all seven finals in this late session, India have won three of the four gold medal bouts so far.

Arundhati Choudhary has the gold medal placed around her neck and looks emotional as the Indian national anthem is played for a third successive medal ceremony at the SEC Centre.

It is about to get loud in the velodrome again as Scotland's Neil Fachie appears to collect his seventh Commonwealth Games gold medal alongside his pilot Aaron Pope after winning the men's tandem B sprint.

James Ball and Matt Rotherham of Wales will have a silver.

We are still recovering from that dramatic final which the Scots won 2-1 with a crash just before that deciding race.

Australia get the bronze.

Team Wales have had a medal spree which has taken their tally to more than they achieved in Birmingham four years ago.

That was a haul of 28 medals, but the 2026 tally currently stands at 30 after Emma Finucane's third gold of the Games at the Velodrome. That was an eighth gold success in Glasgow with 10 silver and 12 bronze.

Wales' most successful games were on the Gold Coast in 2018 where they won 36 medals, including 10 golds, 12 silvers and 14 bronze.

The 2026 medals include 10 in cycling, six in swimming, five in athletics, four in boxing, three in artistic gymnastics and one each in bowls and weightlifting.

It's been quite the day for Team Wales so far.

We are just pausing the competition in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome while we have some medal ceremonies.

Sophie Unwin and her pilot Anna Whitworth-Hay of England are up first to collect their bronze medals for the women's tandem B 1000m time trial.

Whitworth-Hay has only been riding a tandem for six weeks - not a bad return is it?

Australia won the silver and New Zealand the gold.

Former gymnast Jemima Yeats-Brown makes it at least two home nations judokas on the women's -70kg podium.

She looked to be in control for long spells of attacking play, but had to be really patient to overcome New Zealand's Moira de Villiers with a decisive ippon after the match went to golden score.

She takes home the second bronze medal of the category, with fellow England judoka Kelly Petersen-Pollard up next fighting for gold.

Australia's Leigh Hoffman takes the first race.

He looks comfortable against Nicholas Paul who was caught napping a little there.

Hoffman has looked the strongest rider throughout this competition and it will be interesting to see what the man from Trinidad and Tobago can come up with to prevent this being another Australian gold.

Tayte Ryan is too strong for Harry Ledingham-Horn in the opening race.

The Australian just rides away and the Englishman sits up early to conserve energy.
