Mady Villiers concedes her first boundary to former England team-mate Tammy Beaumont who scores 10 off the over.

    Blaze in a hurry.

  2. Postpublished at 10 overs

Blaze 88-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

A nice, juicy short delivery first ball from Heather Graham is slapped for the 10th boundary of the innings by Sarah Bryce. An excellent stop on the boundary from Emily Windsor prevents Bryce adding another off the last ball.

Sarah seems determined to not let sister Kathryn get to bat.

Ten from the over including a couple of leg byes

  3. 'Durham need to revitalise themselves'published at 20:57 BST

Blaze 78-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

    Isabelle Duncan
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It feels like the life is being sucked out of Durham here. The body language is looking a bit flat and negative.

They need to revitalise themselves somehow. That's got to come from the captain Hollie Armitage and she's probably busy scratching her head and wondering what to bowl at these two to break them up.

They need to do something special because this pair are firmly bedded in.

  4. Postpublished at 9 overs

Blaze 78-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

Tammy Beaumont is enjoying herself reverse sweeping Sophie Turner's first delivery through vacant third for a boundary.

She produces an orthodox sweep next ball for another four.

All this is good news for Grace Scrivens of Essex who's set to finish the tournament's top scorer and it doesn't look like Charli Knott will get the chance to overtake her.

12 off the over...just 40 more needed off 11 overs.

A full toss from Katie Levick second ball is dismissively sent to the boundary by Sarah Bryce.

Bryce adds another four and 10 come off the over.

The Blaze need another 52 off 72 balls.

  6. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Blaze 56-0 chasing 118 v Durham

Maddy Villiers only concedes three from her first over but the body language from Durham doesn't suggest they really believe they can turn this around.

Katie Levick will be the next to try.

  7. Powerplaypublished at 6 overs

Blaze 53-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

Blaze complete the most successful powerplay of Finals Day despite a testing over from Heather Graham who's come into the attack.

Sarah Bryce does well to keep out one which keeps low.

    Durham turn to spin now...

  8. 'Surprising we've not seen Sophia Turner'published at 20:40 BST

Blaze 46-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

    Isabelle Duncan
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It's somewhat surprising we haven't seen anything of Sophia Turner here to try and break up this opening partnership.

She was the star with the ball in that game against Hampshire earlier on. I don't think it'll be long before she's introduced into the attack.

  9. Great shots from Beaumontpublished at 5 overs

Blaze 46-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

In need of wickets Hollie Armitage sticks with her main strike bowler Lauren Filer even though she's conceded 15 in her first two overs. It's a mistake

Tammy Beaumont plays three glorious shots to the offside boundary and 14 come off the over.

Dangerous to say Blaze are cruising...but Blaze are cruising

  11. Postpublished at 4 overs

Blaze 32-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

Nearly! Sophie Turner can't quite reach Tammy Beaumont's aerial shot. It goes for four.

Blaze score 14 off the over as Trudy Johnson sees a leg side delivery go for three wides. That's now seven extras already in the innings.

  12. 'Blaze cruising'published at 20:32 BST

Blaze 18-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

    Isabelle Duncan
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It just feels like The Blaze are rather cruising it here.

  13. Postpublished at 3 overs

Blaze 18-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

A swing and a miss from Sarah Bryce but she lifts the next ball over the close fielders for the second boundary of the innings behind point.

Lauren Filer, stretching in search of a badly needed wicket, bowls two more leg side wides. Seven off the over.

Early days but Blaze look in control

  14. 'Durham need a breakthrough'published at 20:30 BST

Blaze 11-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

    Dominic James
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

    Durham need a breakthrough.

Swing and a miss are fine, dot balls are fine but they need wickets if they are to stand a chance of beating The Blaze.

  15. Postpublished at 2 overs

Blaze 11-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

A decent over from Trudy Johnson who induces a couple of false shots out of Tammy Beaumont.

But Durham have yet to get the early wickets they need. Three runs off that over.

  16. 'The ball is really flying out there'published at 20:23 BST

Blaze 8-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

    Isabelle Duncan
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This is hard new ball and it's really flying out there.

The sun has gone down now but it's still pretty warm.

  17. Postpublished at 1 over

Blaze 8-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

Lauren Filer bowls two wides and Sarah Bryce ends the first over with a boundary run down to third.

Blaze can afford to be patient, They know scoring runs on this Oval pitch is hard work but they'll back themselves to chase down this modest target.

  18. Durham need a record-breaking defencepublished at 0.1 over

Blaze 0-0 chasing 118 to beat Durham

Sarah Bryce and Tammy BeaumontImage source, Shutterstock

Sarah Bryce and Tammy Beaumont open the batting as Blaze aim to keep hopes of a Nottinghamshire Blast double alive. The men head for Edgbaston for their Finals Day tomorrow. Bryce lets the first ball from Lauren Filer go.

Durham captain Hollie Armitage, who led the Northern Superchargers to glory in the Hundred final last summer, has her work cut out here. No team has successfully defended a total as low as this in a 20 over game in the first years of the women's Blast.

Blaze will hope they don't pay for some dropped chances. Their ground fielding during the Durham innings was good...their catching less so.

  19. 'Blaze will be confident'published at 20:11 BST

    Durham 117-8 v The Blaze

    Dominic James
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The Blaze have been set a target of 118 to win the T20 Blast of 2026.

I think they'll be confident of getting that.

  20. Blaze need 118 to winpublished at 20 overs

    Durham 117-8 v The Blaze

The Blaze celebrate taking wicketImage source, Shutterstock

A low total but who knows whether that might be enough.

The gut feeling is that The Blaze performed very well with the ball and Durham failed to break the shackles with the bat.

Kirstie Gordon finishes with 3-21 and Charli Knott with 2-25 but Grace Ballinger and Josie Groves also bowled very well.

Durham's Heather Graham top scored with 30 and Grace Thompson and Emily Windsor joined for 40 lower down the order for the sixth wicket.

Enough? We will find out in 10 minutes or so.
