Man City manager Pep Guardiola on Everton: "Difficult opponents - they always have been. It will be weird because the old Everton stadium was so cool and nice, very British. I loved going there, but I'm looking forward to the new stadium.

"They defend really well. David Moyes knows exactly what to do. The game we played at the Etihad was decided by two or three actions, but at that moment we weren't good. We're better now, and hopefully we can use what we are playing for to win, win, win."

Man City manager Pep Guardiola joked when asked about his surprise attendance at Stockport v Port Vale: "The day before, I saw the calendar and saw PSG and Bayern Munich and thought, 'bah, what a disaster game.' Managers are not good - Luis [Enrique] and Vini [Vincent Kompany].

"I'm in love with English football, and I decided to go to Stockport.

"Next season, when Bayern Munich play my old team, I will be in front of the sofa."

Man City manager Pep Guardiola provided an injury update on Rodri: "He's getting better. He still hasn't trained with us, so we'll see over the next few days."

He added that he is "always confident" Rodri will play.

On the likelihood of Ruben Dias featuring: "Not yet, but he is getting better. Him, Josko Gvardiol, and Rodri are all improving."
