Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on how much thought will go into the right-back position, considering the strength of PSG's left flank, for the Champions League final:

"We need to look at alternatives. The two players that we have, they're not available at the moment. So we need to look and do something else. The good thing is that we have experience all over the pitch this season. Because when we had issues normally they'll be in the same position. And we have managed to find the right levels of performance and consistency so I'm sure we will do that."

  3. 'It was something special'published at 10:54 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on what it was like being inside the coach when Arsenal fans turned up in huge numbers to greet them before the Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid:

"I loved it. I think all the players and staff loved it. It builds as an energy, a connection with them that we haven't experienced before.

"It's the whole preparation and the whole atmosphere showed that the level of meaning was higher and the level of implication and desire and passion from the supporters was different as well. It really helped."

"The players were on the other bus but I could see straight away that all the staff and everybody was looking at each other and I said 'wow'. We've taken this to a different level and looking at the engagement, passion of the fans, the enthusiasm in their eyes - it was something special."

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on the significance of their Burnley fixture being at home:

"It's the schedule that we have. It's been extremely demanding from the beginning and the team has coped with that in a fantastic way. It is not our choice. We have the opportunity for our supporters, it's going to be a Monday night, let's take it in a really positive way.

"We lived something [with] our supporters, with something incredible against Atletico Madrid, I know if we can replicate any of that I know that the team is going to respond really really well."

  5. Postpublished at 10:48 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on how his team have adapted this season:

"That goes back to recruitment as well. With the necessities and the demands that players have nowadays, we need players that are comfortable, able and with the qualities to perform in different positions. Otherwise, it becomes really difficult.

"Especially when you're hit with injuries in the same positions for long periods of time. It would not be sustainable.

"What the team has done, in that sense I think, has been remarkable."

  6. 'Enthusiastic and positive'published at 10:45 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on his side's focus, potentially being a week away from winning the league:

"The team is really present. It's live in the moment. It's emotionally, a really good state. The energy levels is the right one.

"We have most players available now - okay, we lost Ben [White] the other day, but the others are coming back as well.

"And everybody feels enthusiastic and positive about the way we can finish the season."

  7. 'The sample is tiny'published at 10:42 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on whether Riccardo Calafiori's left-back experience is transferable to the right-back:

"The sample is so tiny so it's very difficult to judge a player when he had some low minutes. The same when we played a different player, Thomas Partey, we had some really good moments, some others wen you don't win and it's because Thomas played at full back. Declan Rice when he's played as a full back against Brighton, he was exceptional but then the other night it was something else.

"It depends, the sample is so little. It will remain so little from here to the end of the season to judge whether that player is good enough or can perform the position.

"And what is the cost from moving that player from one position to the other? That's the balance that we need to find."

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on whether previous risks that he has taken changing players' position, having been successful, gives him more confidence:

"I don't know if the word is risk. At the end we have to make a decision because it the circumstances are requiring that. With Miles [Lewis-Skelly] it was a difference, it was a choice because of what we saw and what we believed that he could do and what the team needed. He's done really really well."

Getting Timber back is so crucial for Arsenal, especially with the CL final. He's a specialist at stopping those fast, unpredictable dribbles. Mosquera will suffer immensely if pitted against PSG's attackers on that side. From what Arteta is saying, however, i'm not feeling confident he'll be back in time.

"It was a reset moment. The performance was there... to be even more convinced and to understand what we've done up til now is fine, let's learn every bit of it and use it for the last five games. That's what remained and we have every chance to go and do it."

  11. 'I haven't seen any of the reaction' around grapplingpublished at 10:33 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on the reaction to the West Ham game and consistency around decisions made in a packed penalty area:

"The reaction from our side was extremely positive because we are so happy with the outcome and the fight with which we won the game, such an important game for us. And we had a really, really intense week with the semi-final of the Champions League.

"In relation to the reaction, I haven't seen any of that I'm sorry. I'm very consistent on that since July, until now. I think it's very clear. I think anyone that has played football, no discussion about the decision and I'm glad that they took the right one."

  12. 'It's part of the narrative'published at 10:30 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was asked whether he watched Manchester City beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday:

"No, I was at a sponsor dinner. It was good. Very good, very nice people."

On whether it will be distracting that goal difference will count for the title:

"It's part of the narrative. There is various options and this could be one of those. It is a factor that is important from the start of season, we know that the difference is so small and you can make the difference bigger in your favour. It can be important."

  13. Postpublished at 10:27 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on Riccardo Calafiori:

"We don't know whether he is going to be available or not. Hopefully it's nothing serious but we'll have to wait and see how he reacts to that."

On whether he puts Cristhian Mosquera in at right back:

"There are different options in relation to the opponent as well and the things we want to do. We need to be open not to one but to two or three options because players can pick up injuries and we need to be flexible."

"He wanted to be very close to the team. He has progressed a little bit in the last few days. He's feeling better. We're going to try and get him fit and available as quick as possible, but let's see.

"He's such an important player for us and he's doing everything he can to help the team in any capacity. His leadership, his quality and how much the team needs him. He's doing everything he can."

  15. Update on White's injurypublished at 10:19 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on Ben White and whether he will miss the World Cup:

"We'll have to wait and see. It looks like a long-term injury so at the moment the focus is on when we can have him back to be available for Arsenal. And that's not going to happen for many many weeks."

  16. 'Scoring goals will be important'published at 10:15 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on whether goal difference is on his mind:

"First of all, we have to earn the right to win the game. To make a difference with more goals, even better. We played a really tough Manchester, we played a really tough match against West Ham, we managed to win it. It was a great feeling. But we know ideally that scoring goals is going to be important."

  17. 'Level of consistency'published at 10:10 BST

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on what has pleased him most about his team this season:

"Probably the capacity to adapt to very demanding circumstances and still perform and win the amount of games that we've won."

On the difference between chasing the title in previous years to being chased:

"The last few years we've been in both positions. It's what it is. The fact that we've been at the top for a long time shows the level of consistency and how well the team has done to stay there in this league. It's where we are. More than ever we want to finish in that position and that's what we're trying to do."

"We prepare to beat Burnley - that's it."

A reporter notes that Jamie Vardy invited Leicester players to his house to watch Chelsea help the Foxes win the title and asks which player is the likely candidate to host such a gathering:

"Again, I'm sorry. We're not thinking about that kind of thing. The only focus is on Burnley and winning that game. That's the thing we can control."

Arsenal v Burnley (Monday, 20:00 BST)
