Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on what it was like being inside the coach when Arsenal fans turned up in huge numbers to greet them before the Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid:

"I loved it. I think all the players and staff loved it. It builds as an energy, a connection with them that we haven't experienced before.

"It's the whole preparation and the whole atmosphere showed that the level of meaning was higher and the level of implication and desire and passion from the supporters was different as well. It really helped."

"The players were on the other bus but I could see straight away that all the staff and everybody was looking at each other and I said 'wow'. We've taken this to a different level and looking at the engagement, passion of the fans, the enthusiasm in their eyes - it was something special."

"It's the schedule that we have. It's been extremely demanding from the beginning and the team has coped with that in a fantastic way. It is not our choice. We have the opportunity for our supporters, it's going to be a Monday night, let's take it in a really positive way.

"We lived something [with] our supporters, with something incredible against Atletico Madrid, I know if we can replicate any of that I know that the team is going to respond really really well."

"What the team has done, in that sense I think, has been remarkable."

"The sample is so tiny so it's very difficult to judge a player when he had some low minutes. The same when we played a different player, Thomas Partey, we had some really good moments, some others wen you don't win and it's because Thomas played at full back. Declan Rice when he's played as a full back against Brighton, he was exceptional but then the other night it was something else.

"It depends, the sample is so little. It will remain so little from here to the end of the season to judge whether that player is good enough or can perform the position.

"And what is the cost from moving that player from one position to the other? That's the balance that we need to find."

"I don't know if the word is risk. At the end we have to make a decision because it the circumstances are requiring that. With Miles [Lewis-Skelly] it was a difference, it was a choice because of what we saw and what we believed that he could do and what the team needed. He's done really really well."

"The reaction from our side was extremely positive because we are so happy with the outcome and the fight with which we won the game, such an important game for us. And we had a really, really intense week with the semi-final of the Champions League.

"In relation to the reaction, I haven't seen any of that I'm sorry. I'm very consistent on that since July, until now. I think it's very clear. I think anyone that has played football, no discussion about the decision and I'm glad that they took the right one."

"It's part of the narrative. There is various options and this could be one of those. It is a factor that is important from the start of season, we know that the difference is so small and you can make the difference bigger in your favour. It can be important."

"We prepare to beat Burnley - that's it."

A reporter notes that Jamie Vardy invited Leicester players to his house to watch Chelsea help the Foxes win the title and asks which player is the likely candidate to host such a gathering:

"Again, I'm sorry. We're not thinking about that kind of thing. The only focus is on Burnley and winning that game. That's the thing we can control."

Mikel Arteta has given his update on the Arsenal squad's fitness.

He started by saying that "not much has changed and we still have a few days until Monday."

He said Ben White's injury is "long-term" and said that he is not sure about Riccardod Calafiori's fitness after the left back came off with a knock against West Ham.

Jurrien Timber has been out with a groin injury for a while but Arteta has said the right back "has progressed in the last few days".

Mikel Arteta is hosting an early press conference before Arsenal's final home game against Burnley.

The supporters are planning another demonstration to welcome the players when they arrive at the stadium. They did it for the first time before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.

Arteta has been dealt a blow after Ben White has been ruled out for the season with a knee ligament injury and with Jurrien Timber also injured, the Arsenal manager has thinking to do about what to do at right back for the last three games of the season.
