Callum Paterson's goal was his 16th of the season for MK Dons

MK Dons missed out on the chance to be crowned League Two champions after being held to a draw at Fleetwood.

The title-chasers fought back from a goal down after Callum Paterson's first-half strike cancelled out Ronan Coughlan's spectacular opener.

But the Dons failed to make possession count in the second half to hand the league title to Bromley as they were promoted as runners-up, a point further back.

Gethin Jones headed wide before Alex Gilbey saw a shot saved by Jay Lynch as the visitors started on the front foot.

Craig MacGillivray made a great save to deny Coughlan from just inside the box after 23 minutes.

There was nothing he could do seconds later when Coughlan put Town ahead with a brilliant overhead kick.

Paterson levelled with a composed finish after Ben Wiles' pass split open the defence.

Liam Kelly and Gilbey both failed to find the target midway through the half.

Joe Tomlinson forced Lynch into a save from a free-kick as the Dons failed to find the winning goal they needed in the closing stages.
