Match Facts
Australia and Switzerland recorded a 0-0 draw at Kybunpark in St. Gallen in their only previous meeting in men’s ‘A’ internationals (3 September 2010); it was Holger Osieck’s first match as manager of the Socceroos.
This is set to be Australia’s last men’s ‘A’ international before the FIFA World Cup 2026; the Socceroos have won three of their last five games leading immediately into to the tournament (L2), including wins in each of their fixtures before each of the 2018 and 2022 editions.
Australia have won only one of their last five men’s ‘A’ internationals against UEFA opposition (D1 L3); although, that one victory did come in their most recent such fixture on neutral territory (1-0 vs Denmark at Al Janoub Stadium – FIFA World Cup 2022).
Jordan Bos (Australia) has made 15 dribbles in men’s internationals in 2026, 10 more than any other Socceroos player this year; in addition, he’s won possession 12 times during this period which is the joint-most of any Socceroos player alongside Connor Metcalfe (12).
Nestory Irankunda (Australia) has a shooting accuracy of 67% from his six shots (ex. Blocks) in men’s internationals in 2026, the best rate of any Socceroos player to log more than two shots in this category; he’s contested 60 duels (7.5 per game), had 153 touches (19.1 per game) and played 14 passes into the opposition box (1.8 per game) across his last eight matches for the Socceroos.
