Thursday is the new Friday and all that*.

That's as far as we go here tonight after a thoroughly deserved Yorkshire derby win for Bradford at Sheffield Wednesday in League One.

Unusually there is no EFL action tomorrow night so you're going to have to wait until Saturday lunchtime for your next action from the 72.

Bradford City goalscorer Aden Baldwin told Sky Sports:

"We weathered the storm in the first half and they had a lot of opportunities.

"We were aggressive and nullified their threat."

[On his goal] "I saw my eyes light up and I volleyed it in, that's it and I went for it."

Bradford City midfielder Antoni Sarcevic told Sky Sports:

"Coming off the back of last season, the group of lads want to make it as successful as we can this season.

"We went in at half-time and had a word with ourselves and I think in the second half we deserved it.

"First half we weren't ourselves or playing how we usually play which is on the front foot and aggressive, which is credit to Sheff Wed.

"We got the goal and we brought on the attacking threat and I thought we were a threat throughout the second half."

That's a 74th win in what was Graham Alexander's 150th game in charge of Bradford City.

They finished fourth in League One last season and lost in the play-offs to Bolton.

Could they go better this time around?

Three games played, three games won and no goals conceded in all competitions for the Bantams now this campaign.

Bradford came out and played a more high tempo game but we've got to be good enough to react.

It's a bit of a reality check with everything going off at this football club. We finished on zero points last season and we've brought in a multitude of players to this club.

Yes, we'd have liked to have got something out of the game but you've got to learn from a result like this.

I think the way they played in the second half Bradford deserved that win. I think City grew into the game and they got better as the game went on.

Wednesday were non-existent in the second half. City really nullified their threats. They dealt with everything that Wednesday had to throw at them and have seen it through comfortably.

Huge opportunity for Wednesday at the death there. A golden opportunity late on to steal a point but its Bradford City - their Yorkshire rivals - who put on an excellent second half display to take the victory.

Bradford had a few other chances to take it a bit further - all after Wednesday had an excellent first half.

Fourteen new signings for Sheffield Wednesday (and counting) and perhaps things will take time to gel.

A richly deserved Yorkshire derby win for Bradford City.

The home side made a great start in front of a packed and expectant Hillsborough but they could not find a goal.

Bradford weathered that storm and then got in front after the break through Aden Baldwin's close range finish.

Thereafter the away side managed the game really, really well up until the final moment when Jamal Lowe should have levelled but struck wide from six yards out.

Jamal Lowe has a great chance to level in the final moments but he sends his shot wide!

And that's it.

Bradford are closing in on what would be a very creditable win.

Wednesday will be hoping they can find the moment to get back into the game - whether that's a shot out of nothing, a set piece and pass through the middle. They'll surely still get one opportunity here in this game.

The home side finally threaten and win a corner.

Kieran Morrison swings it in to the middle and Bantams keeper Jon McCracken punches it away from danger.

In what was a wretched season against a backdrop of administration, Sheffield Wednesday managed just 29 league goals last season.

There's been a lot of change over the summer but it looks like they're struggling to kick that bad habit.
