Leyton Orient secured their League One survival with a 2-2 draw at home to already-safe Burton Albion.

Exeter City's 2-1 defeat at home to Bradford City meant the O's would have stayed up regardless of their result, with the Grecians going down, but still managed to earn a point.

Goals from Will Forrester and Dom Ballard were matched by Fabio Taveres and Alex Hartridge at the BetWright Stadium

Orient had the perfect start after just less than two minutes, when a corner from Charlie Wellens was scrambled in by captain Forrester.

Home goalkeeper Will Dennis had to pull off two excellent saves – firstly, a point-blank effort from Taveres after 15 minutes, then from a JJ McKiernan outside the box 10 minutes later.

Demetri Mitchell was guilty at snatching at a shot in the 32nd minute before Burton equalised a minute later when Taveres pounced on a loose ball after Dennis could only parry away.

Orient regained the lead six minutes after the interval when Ballard found space in the area and drilled home low past Bradley Collins.

However, Burton regained parity in the 58th minute when Hartridge turned a header in from close range.

It was enough for both sides as the result in the West Country ensured a happy ending to the season.
