It just gets worse and worse for Manchester United.

Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

It's unacceptable. Lisandro Martinez just runs right across and it's absolutely crazy.

He's let everyone down, his team-mates, everything.

Peter Bankes gives the penalty and Lisandro Martinez has been shown a second yellow card. He's also lost his head and the United players are having to walk him off.

Terrible.

Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

That's ridiculous defending, you're not on side you're just on any side and jumping into him.

That's a penalty. He's just jumped into him to prevent a header.

Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

For a defender of his level, that is just lazy. That is almost unforgivable.

He leads with his arm into the face of Fofana.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Well, well, well, Peter Bankes is over at the screen

What is Lisandro Martinez doing? Madness.

Wesley Fofana is down in the box holding his face and Chelsea are certain that's a penalty.

I've no idea what Lisandro Martinez is doing there. He jumps into Fofana's face.

Morgan Rogers took the mick out of Lisandro Martinez there.

Lisandro Martinez does his best to bring Morgan Rogers down. He doesn't quite manage it but the foul is brought back and the United man gets a yellow card.

Six goals and four assists for Morgan Rogers since joining Chelsea in the summer. His 10 goal involvements in 13 matches across all competitions is an impressive return, and no Chelsea player has played more minutes during that period.

There two sides meet for the second time in three days after Manchester City emerged victorious on penalties against Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Both teams have returned to full strength, with Erling Haaland starting up front for Enzo Maresca's side, but the Italian has dropped Marc Guehi to the bench after a recent run of poor form.

Matheus Nunes has recovered from injury and returns to the starting line-up, with both Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki on the bench.

Man City XI: Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Khusanov, Gvardiol, Bouaddi, Anderson, Fernandez, Ndiaye, Doku, Haaland.

Brighton stayed up in Manchester in preparation for this game and have the big guns back in the starting line-up, including striker Charalampos Kostoulas and captain Lewis Dunk.

Wednesday's goalscorers Malick Yalcouye and Georginio Rutter are both on the bench.

Brighton XI: Verbruggen, Costinha, Vuskovic, Dunk, Boscagli, Andres, Gomez, Ayari, De Cuyper, Gross, Kostoulas.

United make their first change with Carlos Baleba departing for the returning Kobbie Mainoo.

That corner is an easy catch for Senne Lammens but United lose the ball from his kick out.

Chelsea are playing with a lot more zip since finding the opener, as they win another corner.

Could be curtains for United if Chelsea score again.

I was in the Chelsea dressing room today and the only different thing I saw was heated boot warmers. I'll be purchasing some.

Interesting to see how United approach this now.

Will their heads drop or will it make them go up a gear?

Ally McCoist
Former Scotland striker on TNT Sports

Manchester United haven't got an option they just need to role their sleeves up and get on with it.

James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio 5 Live

Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos - dreadful.

The Manchester United defenders - wow.

Is there someone who is going to put the challenge in?
