Rangers remain at the top of the SWPL on goal-difference after the in-form Laura Berry scored twice to earn victory over Aberdeen.

Berry's strikes came within three minutes of each other midway through the first half, with Katie Wilkinson also netting before half time.

Berry's first came from a well-worked Sophie Black free kick. She floated the ball in towards Nicola Docherty, who headed it into the path of Berry as she finished off from close range.

Three minutes later, Berry powered Eilidh Austin's cut back past Katie O'Hanlon in the Aberdeen goal.

Wilkinson soon put Rangers three up. Brogan Hay did well to keep the ball in play and her accurate delivery was headed in by Wilkinson at the back post.

Rangers top scorer came close to adding another early in the second half, but saw her acrobatic effort hit the goal frame.

Aberdeen rarely threatened. Holly Daniel tried her luck from distance but home keeper Jenna Fife safely gathered.

With 14 minutes left, Aberdeen did pull a goal back, though. Melissa Regmi didn't give up as she got her shot away, and the 17-year-old's effort looped over Fife and into the back of the net.

The 3-1 victory extends Rangers winning start and keeps them at the top of the SWPL on goal difference, while Aberdeen remain pointless after five league games.

Rangers face a big week with their Europa Cup second qualifying round, first leg match against Hammarby IF on Wednesday followed by their SWPL clash with Celtic on Sunday.
