It's huge that Knaak is back in from the start tonight. The partnership that she build up throughout last season with Rose, they were instrumental to City being crowned champions.

A nice, steady start for Manchester City as they ping the ball about for a bit in their own half before moving forward.

Aoba Fujino whips a curling delivery towards the back post, but Khadija Shaw can't quite get above it and her header whizzes wide.

  4. 'Starting a little bit stronger'published at 20:00 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Andree Jeglertz speaking to BBC Two: "Of course we want to win games but we also know that the start of this group was Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and now PSG so it was a tough start. Like you say we haven't lost but we haven't won either. We know it’s going to be tough today also, so it’s not about winning or losing and then you’re out, it’s about trying to win the game and we'll do everything we can to [do] that and see how far it takes us."

On what he wants to see tonight: "Starting a little bit stronger. I think we have done that good in the league in the latest games but in the Champions League we have been a little bit passive. We can't afford that today, that's the first thing. "

On Bunny Shaw coming third in Ballon d'Or and whether that makes her hungry for more: "I think for her, she always wants to contribute to the team she always wants to score goals and do things so we can win the game. I don’t think that’s affecting her that much. She also knows that it's an individual prize and she's proud of being top three in the world and she's also hungry to be even better and that's what we need."

Not only will Manchester City be hoping to get their first win in the Champions League this season, but they'll be aiming to bounce back from Sunday's draw against rivals Manchester United in the WSL.

It was the first time Andree Jeglertz's side had dropped points this term, while it allowed Chelsea to jump above them at the top of the table.

City often looked disjointed and frustrated in the derby, unable to make their dominance count before United netted a late leveller.

Khadija Shaw deserved to be in top three [of the Ballon d'Or] for what she did last season. She probably would have got higher if they had been playing in the Champions League.

She's started this season brilliantly, scoring so many goals, made 100 WSL appearances. An unbelievable striker.

  8. 'We want to compete with the best'published at 19:52 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

    PSG

PSG midfielder Emilie Osteras speaking to BBC Two on the improvements they have made this season: "We have continued to work hard, we are a group with lot of quality, we just need to show it. This year we have been doing better and that's fun.

"We know Manchester City is a tough team. We want to compete with the best teams in Europe. Just need to go and play our game and be aggressive."

  9. 'Finding our feet a bit more' in Europepublished at 19:50 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Grace Clinton speaking to BBC Two about their league and Champions League form: "I think obviously it's a completely different schedule this season and it's a new competition to us. We wasn't in that last year so it's kind of full focus on the league but I think we've had tough games so far in the Champions League and it has been a lot of games.

"We've obviously had some injuries here and there as well but I think it's a credit to the team that no matter who we’re coming up against we still manage not to lose. Just with more time I think were finding our feet a bit more and I think we’ll get there.

"It's really exciting. Like I said we've played top teams in the Champions League but the more games that we play and the less training that we do, the more fun it is, as footballers that’s all we wanna do. We just wanna play games, it’s exciting playing against the best players and hopefully improving each week."

  10. 'Fujino makes City tick'published at 19:48 GMT

I think that number ten role without Vivianne Miedema has been a bit of an issue this season in terms of who he wants to play there. I think Beth Mead has been tried there, Grace Clinton, Aoba Fujino.

Fujino is probably winning the battle. I think she has gone under the radar from last season to this season. Her movement, her intelligence to find positions where she can get on the half-turn but even just those unselfish runs in behind to get Bunny Shaw on the ball, or to allow Lauren Hemp to get on the ball. She has been one of City's best players this season.

We all speak about Bunny, about Hemp and rightly so because they're in a world of their own at the moment but I think players like Fujino make Man City tick at this moment in time.

  11. Knaak return boosts City defencepublished at 19:46 GMT

Rebecca Knaak has been on the bench for the last few games since returning from injury.

But this is a major boost for City to have her in the starting XI for a big Champions League game.

She played an important part in their WSL success last season and scored an unforgettable and dramatic late goal against Liverpool.

City have looked less convincing at the back this season without her due to injury and have been caught out a few times in the WSL.

They were tested in their last European game against Real Madrid last time out too and only have two points from their opening two matches.

That's not a terrible position given they have faced their strongest opponents - but they will want to get more points on the board today.

Jennifer Echegini in midfield is who Manchester City tried to get right in the back end of the window in the summer so that'll be interesting, her coming up against the midfield for City. It's poised to be a really exciting encounter, PSG not winning before in England so a chance for them to make some history as well.

  13. How are PSG faring in Europe so far?published at 19:42 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

Like Manchester City, Paris St-Germain struggled against Real Madrid too - settling for a 1-1 draw with the Spanish club in their opening fixture.

But they had no such problems against Belgian side Leuven the following week, firing in five goals.

  14. Win would put City in 'amazing position'published at 19:40 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Women's Football Weekly

From a Man City point of view they're on two points already in the league phase. They should have more than enough to win this game. Three points would put them in an amazing position.

From a PSG point of view, they've already doubled the amount of points they had last season, so they're already looking a lot better. [Naomie] Feller on the left-hand side looks brilliant for them, she's a new addition this season from Real Madrid, scored a good couple of goals in the Champions League.

  15. The story so far for Man City...published at 19:38 GMT

Man City v PSG (20:00 GMT)

Manchester City haven't had it easy yet in the Champions League this season and they're still awaiting their first win in the tournament.

Against Bayern Munich, they had to fight back from two goals down to seal a single point, while they settled for a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid a week later - with Khadija Shaw cancelling out Linda Caicedo's opener for the visitors.

Two points against top teams like Bayern and Real is not a bad tally, but they will be hoping to start on the front foot against PSG tonight.
