What a game! Too much excitement for my cat, but easily one of the games of the tournament so far! Unfortunately, I'm up at silly o'clock because of ongoing illness. This definitely taken the edge off tonight and been great to watch!

Another change for Iran and it is Mehdi Taremi who has gone off in a change up front, with Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh coming on to provide a handful to defenders and a handful to very tired live text commentators trying to spell his name correctly.

I’m a Celtic supporter that stayed up all night to watch Elijah Just. He has not disappointed! If you’ve seen him in Scotland you won't be surprised by this classy performance. Please sign him Celtic!

Elijah Just's double means he is the fourth player to score two goals in this World Cup so far, following on from Folarin Balogun (United States), Yasin Ayari (Sweden) and Kai Havertz (Germany).

Will Just be the first to get a hat-trick in this tournament?

So happy for Eli Just. Coached him for a couple of years at age 13-14. His vision, technical ability and manipulation of space was incredible. That second goal was common to see.

    Garry, New Zealand

Good game tonight, it's at times like this that having insomnia isn't such a bad thing. Good morning to all hope everyone is doing well.

    Craig, Dagenham

I've been working night shift since the start of the tournament so I haven't missed a game yet... just don't tell my boss!

Another burst of energy from the fans inside Los Angeles Stadium.

Everyone was on their feet as Iran equalised and the Islamic Republic flag is flying now.

He didn’t need to do a lot with the header, just guide in into the corner. Iran had just started to look a little flat but that burst of quality has got them back into this game.

What a ball that is. Mohebbi gets himself in between Surman and Boxall - he still has a bit to do and it is a terrific header, he has to control the pace of the cross and does it superbly.

What a game we've got on here.

This is a superb goal and Iran draw level for the second time.

The ball is played wide right to goalscorer Ramin Rezaeian and his delivery from the wing is brilliant, and Mohammad Mohebbi gets there to power a header at goal, with the ball going in off the inside of the post.

Elijah Just (two) is the first player to score more than once for New Zealand in a World Cup match, while Chris Wood (two) is also the first player to provide multiple assists in a World Cup match for New Zealand.

Another really good goal from New Zealand and Just. He starts on the left when they build up attacks but he never stays there and constantly drifts inside. It was a good passage of play,

Wood receives the ball in the penalty area and I am thinking 'he will take a touch and shoot' but he lays it off instead. New Zealand are at their best when the attackers interchange positions.

What a player. That was sensational from Elijah Just. Chris Wood is involved once again.

A couple of quick touches and Just passes to Wood with the outside of his left foot, and the pass back from Wood was weighted perfectly. It allows Just to run on to it and lift it over Beiranvand.

Good match so far. Given the build-up to this game and concerns about Iran's participation in this WC, football/soccer is the winner after all!

I'm on to my fifth cup of coffee tonight. Nocturnal for the World Cup.

Find it strange that we’ve seen very little views of either set of fans in the stadium, just the occasional close up. Goals scored but no shots of fan reaction from either team, just renewed views of the players on the pitch.

Almost an instant impact from sub Mehdi Ghayedi for Iran as he strikes a half-volley well from the edge of the penalty area, only for the ball to be charged down with some solid defending from Marko Stamenic.
