Barrow have made former Hartlepool striker Alex Reid new head coach Adam Murray's first summer signing.

The 30-year-old former Stevenage, Stockport and Oldham forward was one of 16 players to leave Pools last month, having finished as their top scorer with 12 goals in 40 appearances.

Murray told the club website, external: "To go out there and get someone of Reidy's stature, a proven goalscorer at this level - we're buzzing to get him in the building and he's excited to get going and meet the rest of the lads."

The move, on a two-year deal, is subject to National League and FA approval.
