Wingers Billy Bodin and Junior Hoilett, and centre-back Ryan Delaney, are among 10 players released by Swindon Town following the end of the season.

Will Wright, Jake Batty, Redman Evans, Jaxon Brown, Dani Gonzalez-Birchall, Antony McCormick and George Alston are also departing.

Bodin returned to Swindon last summer, 13 years after previously leaving the club, and scored four goals in 27 games.

Hoilett joined Swindon in February and has been targeting a place in Canada's World Cup squad this summer and scored once in 14 games.

Delaney made 29 appearances for Swindon during two seasons with the Robins although spent the second half of this campaign on loan with Newport County.

Swindon are still in discussions with defender Billy Kirkman over a new contract.

Danny Butterworth and Harrison Minturn, who have both been out for most or all of the past season with long-term injuries, have been invited to return to the club this summer to train despite being out of contract.

"We all know the objective was promotion, and because we haven't achieved that, we must look at the season honestly and accept that it's been a disappointment," manager Ian Holloway said.

"We need to build on our resilience, and I'll be working hard on the character of my group, making them physically and mentally stronger so we can deal better with the challenges a season brings."

Swindon have already agreed contract extensions with goalkeeper Lewis Ward, centre-back Ryan Tafazolli, striker Harry Smith and midfielder Ollie Clarke.
