Time for us to say goodbye for day two of the European Championships in Birmingham.

Great Britain have a 100m European gold for the second night in a row as Romell Glave won in the men's event after Amy Hunt triumphed in the women's competition yesterday.

Jeremiah Azu took silver for a British one-two, while elsewhere Matt Hudson-Smith progressed to tomorrow's men's 400m final.

You've got to place all of the pressure on Matt Hudson-Smith's shoulders - and I think he can handle it.

We saw him in the press conference before this championship started, and he was very bullish about what he was coming here to do. He knows the enormity of what winning a European title for the third time can do infront of his home crowd here.

I think we'll see a different Matt Hudson-Smith tomorrow night, and I think we'll probably see something special. He'll want to put a show on.

Speaking of Matthew Hudson-Smith, he came through his 400m semi-final today in second, seeing Jonas Phijffers of the Netherlands close out the race ahead of him.

He races for European glory at 20:50 BST tomorrow.

After two days of the European Championships, hosts Great Britain top the medal standings with two golds and two silvers.

With Matthew Hudson-Smith going for gold tomorrow night in his home city, the British team will have high hopes of topping the table on Wednesday evening too.

"The most irregular season in terms of races, are quite inconsistent. When it comes to championships, I know I find my best. We always say times are irrelevant at this point. You want to go out there and race for medals.

"I want to put in my best performance in the final and I felt like I did that. You always want to be on the podium. In the 100m there are over 100 guys that are competitive. So it is always tough."

On Team GB's aims in the 100m: "We were always speaking about it that we were going one, two and three. We got one and two, so we did pretty well. Super important as GB sprinters, we have Europe in a choke hold."

Talking about Romell Glave...

I think those shades were the reason he won. He said: "I'm not looking left or right - I'm going to focus on me." And he surely did.

You could see how strong he was. He was in so much control.

Look at him - he's so happy. That's probably the most emotion I've seen out of this guy in a long time.

Great Britain rule the 100m in Europe.

Great Britain's European champion Romell Glave, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is an amazing feeling. Just the work I out in to come here and execute my race. We have been working on my start, and I was able to execute that today.

"Upgrading from a bronze medal from 2024 is an amazing feeling.

"That was the aim to get one, two, and three, but we got one – two, which is also amazing. Wasn't really pressure mentally. I was ready for this occasion. The last week or so has been up and down with my body, but I was able to come out here regardless of how I was feeling.

What a silver medal! That was won right down there at the start.

That was a phenomenal explosion out of the blocks. And he was able to back it up. He was able to hold his form.

They were fantastic. They kept their composure and they were at a home championship - they utilised that crowd and they said: "yes, we're going to come for this medal."

And, not only did they get one, they got two.

What a run by Romell Glave. He must adore Birmingham as a city and a track.

This has given him a great hand. Now he has returned to the stage and becomes the European champion with a lot of pressure. Glave stuck to his plan and he didn't let the pressure get to him.

When he gets going it is like a metronome and he just gets going.

All the athletes are lined-up for the final.

Great Britain's Louie Hinchcliffe hasn't come out and has been replaced by Dominik Kopec.
