A slave... and a saint? According to legend, St Patrick
brought Christianity to pagan Ireland in the 5th century
Songs celebrating Irish culture like Molly Malone are sung on St Patrick’s day, but If the saint himself were alive today would he approve of all the singing and fun?
For example, the Chicago river in America is dyed green, and so are jelly, cakes, people’s faces, and everything else you can think of, all around the world, from Sweden to Japan.
Maybe St Patrick liked the colour pink or blue instead. We will never know which is maybe a good thing!
