A few facts about Ireland
For a small country with a population of just under 6 million Ireland is BIG on music.
Pop
Westlife are Irish so are Boyzone, The Corrs and singers Enya and Sinead O’Connor.
Ireland has won the Eurovision Song Contest 7 times!
Culture
The Irish language is Gaelic and compulsory in school.
Most Irish families have relatives who have emigrated to another country. 10% of Americans claim Irish heritage!
In the UK large Irish communities can be found in Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow and in the London boroughs of Islington and Brent.
