Kenya's telecom giant in court

Safaricom is alleged to have breached the privacy of up to 11.5 million customers

A Kenyan citizen is taking the country's biggest mobile service provider, Safaricom, to court, following allegations that the telecom giant might have breached privacy rules and exposed up to 11.5 million customers private data.

Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed joined soldiers at a ceremony in Addis Ababa to honour General Seare Mekonnen, who was killed during an attempted coup on Saturday. From capital Addis Ababa, the BBC's Kalkidan Yibeltal gives us the details from the ceremony.

The brother of Senegal's president, Macky Sall, stepped down from his head position of a state-run savings deposit bank. It follows a BBC investigation into suspicious oil deals in the country. We hear from opposition politician Mahmadou Diallo, who says more questions are still to be answered.
