Legendary presenter and naturalist Sir David Attenborough will turn 100 this week.

Sir David will celebrate his 100th birthday on Friday 8 May 2026.

As part of his big birthday celebrations lots of events are taking place, including a live music concert, and a special look back at some of the shows he's worked on over the years.

Sir David first appeared on our screens more than 70 years ago, and has since become one of the greatest and most-well known nature broadcasters of our time.

He has made documentaries on every part of the natural world from the seas to the skies, from animals to insects - and has played a significant role in inspiring the next generations of conservationists.

More than 50 plants, animals and dinosaur fossils have been named after him, including a Madagascan dragonfly and an armoured prehistoric fish.
