Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who's Iran's chief negotiator and parliamentary speaker, has said its closure of the Strait of Hormuz would not end so long as the US naval blockade remains in place.
But he also notes there are “just” one or two issues on which the two sides disagreed - without saying what they are, nor explaining their significance.
President Trump has remained supremely positive - in public at least - that an agreement will happen, announcing there had been “very good conversations”.
But this was hours after a ship in the strait reported being fired on by Iranian gunboats.
Trump says blackmail will not be tolerated.
