Joel has announced he’ll be leaving Blue Peter later in the year. Joel is the show’s 41st presenter and has shared loads of unforgettable moments during his time on the famous ship. Watch, play and share your favourite Joel highlights, challenges and behind-the-scenes fun.

Joel's message to the Blue Peter fans

Joel, Abby and Shini recently went on an amazing road trip around Northern Ireland. Joel got to invent a brand-new crisp flavour, Shini learned how to look after horses, and all three presenters even became Celtic warriors for the day!

At the very end of their adventure, the team stopped for one last moment together, stargazing by a cosy campfire. It was there that Joel shared some important news with Abby, Shini and Blue Peter fans. Joel revealed that he has decided it’s time to hang up his badge and move on.

Joel's adventures on Blue Peter

Joel has been on Blue Peter for over three and a half years, and what an adventure it’s been! During his time on the show, Joel has done some truly unbelievable things… and a few very silly things too. And no, we’re not just talking about his ever‑changing hairstyles, which even Joel admits are pretty funny (and a bit mortifying!) to look back on 🤣

From bravely having a thousand bees placed on his face, to learning how to be a top‑class butler at the Savoy hotel for VIP guests Abby and Shini, Joel has always said yes to an adventure. He’s met so many amazing people along the way, including special guests like the Gladiators, Steve Backshall (and a giant snake!), loads of pop stars, and of course, lots and lots of brilliant Blue Peter fans who joined us in the studio audience.

Joel has also met some of his own heroes, including fellow magician Dynamo, who he shared some awesome tricks with. He's even met and awarded Blue Peter badges to royalty, including King Charles III's recent Green badge on Earth Day 2026.

And that’s not all! Joel and Blue Peter have travelled around the world together, visiting incredible places like Iceland, Canada and Japan. He’s taken part in exciting competitions, hunted for dinosaur bones, caught ’em all at the Pokémon World Championships in Tokyo, and even raced down a bobsleigh in Norway with Team GB. That one was truly EPIC!

Shini's favourite memories include when Joel saved her during her bungee jumping challenge. Joel jumped seven times to help Shini reach her target of 25 jumps. The pair have taken on lots of challenges together, such as learning to dance on ice together.

Abby loved seeing Joel take on the high action challenges such as the downhill adaptive mountain biking challenge they took on together. He's spent so much of his time going downhill fast!

Joel says that what gets him through these high adrenaline challenges is you, the Blue Peter fans. He likes to remind himself "it's for the badge" when he's taking on tricky challenges like his assault courses with the Royal Marines.
