His Majesty The King is awarded a Green Blue Peter Badge
At a special ceremony at Dumfries House on Earth Day 2026, Joel awarded King Charles III his very own Green Blue Peter badge.
Do you share a Blue Peter badge with the King?
His Majesty The King has been awarded a Green Blue Peter Badge in recognition of his lifelong commitment to protecting nature and promoting a more sustainable future, as part of a special episode of Blue Peter.
The presentation took place at Dumfries House in Ayreshire, Scotland, during the closing ceremony of The King’s Foundation’s 35th anniversary time capsule.
Presented to King Charles III by Joel, the Green Badge acknowledges his leadership on environmental issues and his work through The King’s Foundation, which champions sustainable communities, environmental education, traditional skills and working in harmony with nature.
If you've earned your Green Blue Peter badge through your own hard work in looking after nature and the environment, you're now in royally good company!
What happened when the King was awarded his Green badge?
During the visit to Dumfries House, His Majesty met some Blue Peter viewers who had all earned their Green badge. These Blue Peter fans are taking part in The King’s Foundation’s Growing Together, Cooking Together and Food for the Future programmes.
The King took the time to hear about their innovative and wonderful ideas to help reduce food waste and protect the planet.
Excitingly, several of their designs and inventions will be sealed inside the Foundation’s time capsule, to be opened in 100 years’ time. Who knows what the future might look like by that time, will some of their ideas have come to life?
