Public loos flushed with success
Horndean toilets
The toilet complex in Blendworth Lane was derelict for ten years
A public toilet in Hampshire is flushed with success after it was declared the best of its kind in England.

The refurbished complex in Blendworth Lane, Horndean, which was derelict for ten years, won two prizes at the national Loo of the Year Awards 2005.

It was given a five-star rating and was also the best in its category.

Mark Reed, from East Hampshire District Council said: "The awards mean that Blendworth Lane is regarded as the best public loo in the whole of England."

He added: "If we consider that this time last year it was a derelict and boarded-up shell of a building that's not bad going."

The Loo of the Year Awards have been identifying the best in the UK since 1987 and are regarded as standard setters for all those who provide "away from home" facilities for staff, customers and visitors.
