1990: The classic red phone box

The red K6 telephone box, a once ubiquitous sight on UK streets, was featured in a documentary looking at the history of phone boxes. Designed by Giles Gilbert Scott to commemorate King George V's silver jubilee, large numbers of the K6 model were installed around the country, becoming an iconic symbol of Britain.
