Joanna Hainsworth was always sporty and fit, running half marathons such as the Great North Run. However, at the age of 21 she got M.E. a condition of chronic fatigue. As a result of her illness, Joanna has struggled over the last 6 years to maintain her own independence, to go to work or maintain an active life. Joanna is determined that the condition will not stop her taking part in this year’s Great North Run, though, so she is going to be pushed the 13.6 miles in her wheelchair, helped by a group of family and volunteers from the charity ME Northeast. Her aim is to raise funds and awareness of a condition that is still very misunderstood. This is the video diary of Joanna’s day; an emotional one that she will never forget. last updated: 22/11/07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Tyne > Video Nation > Great North Push |
