Hello from The Sultanate of Oman.

I left Jarrow in the mid 70s and joined the Army, went to college and then made a career of it.

I am indeed still in, and currently serving in the Middle East.

Why am I here...well I am on loan to the Omani forces for three years and I advise on all matters military and specifically armoured vehicles.

I have a property in Gateshead and do intend returning some day to the North East.

I miss a lot of things but mostly the people, old friends are now not in touch due to time and distance, so that would be nice to meet them again.

My property here in Muscat boasts a Toon Room, which I create wherever I am posted to! It is great for socialising and watching the Toon live as we can here.

I have been here one year and have learnt so much about the Arab people especially the Omanis who must be the friendliest people (except Geordies) in the world.

In my opinion it is a pleasure to experience living here.
