Shrewsbury beat off interest from Aldershot to sign Robinson
New striker Jake Robinson scored his first goal for Shrewsbury as they won 1-0 at Northwich in their opening pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
The summer signing from Brighton scored 10 minutes from time, as all of Town's new names were given a run-out.
"He's shown some fantastic ability in training, so it was good for him to get that goal," said boss Paul Simpson.
"The result of course isn't important, but we created a number of chances and the fitness levels look good."
Omer Riza, Terry Dunfield and Steve Leslie also had good opportunities to score for the Shrews, while new keeper Chris Neal, who has joined from Preston, pulled off several decent saves.
