Stephen Kenny saw Derry slip to a second league defeat |
Early-season pacesetters Derry City stumbled to their second successive defeat in the Eircom Premier Division as Robbie Martin struck UCD's winner. The 22-year-old striker found himself free on left-hand side and he skipped past two defenders to slot beyond the outstretched arm of David Forde.
UCD held out in the second half as Derry became more frustrated.
The visitors' only real chance was when a header from City veteran Peter Hutton was saved by David Quigley.
Derry have been replaced in second place by Cork City who won 3-1 away to Shamrock Rovers.
