Derry City will play a Mayo League select side in the first round of the revamped knock-out Eircom League Cup. The Candystripes will have home advantage and the match will be played midweek on 31 May or 1 June.
The new format will have the 22 Eircom Premier and First Division clubs, plus the side made up of players from the intermediate-ranked Mayo League.
Derry midfielder Kevin Deery will not be eligible for the first game because of a red card in last season's event.
