Derry's game with Longford is off
Derry City manager Stephen Kenny
Stephen Kenny's side started with an away win at Drogheda last week
Derry City's first Eircom League home match of the season against Longford on Friday night at the Brandywell is off.

Longford asked for a postponement because their defender Stephen Paisley is in the Repubic of Ireland U21 squad due to play in Israel this weekend.

"I find it hard to understand why any team at this stage of the year would want to miss a week's football," said Derry City chairman Hugh McDaid.

"Players managers, staff are all built up for it. It's a strange decision."

The game has been re-arranged for the Brandywell on Tuesday, 12 April (1945 GMT).
