Image source, EPAOn Court Suzanne-Lenglen, Russian eighth seed Mirra Andreeva has taken the first set 6-3 against Switzerland's Jil Teichmann.
The winner of that match will book a quarter-final spot against Romanian 18th seed Sorana Cirstea.
Cirstea, 36, has said she will retire at the end of the year but is enjoying one of the best spells of her 20-year career.

Kostyuk set up a quarter-final tie with fellow Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, with the seventh seed beating Belinda Bencic in three sets.
Elsewhere, 36-year-old Romanian Sorana Cirstea reached the quarter-finals with a straight-set win over China's Wang Xiyu.
Later this evening, Norwegian 15th seed Casper Ruud takes on Brazilian 28th seed Joao Fonseca in the night session.

"I prefer when it’s hot to be honest. I like heat, I feel like my ball is a lot faster, everything is faster through the air and my opponents struggle more which is always nice.
“I spend a lot of time in Florida so I’m used to the heat and conditions. It’s like Germany here, it can change in one day, so I’m used to that and I like showing good tennis.”

The German second seed started the match slowly but grew into it and underlined his tag as the favourite to win the tournament by the end against a fading Jesper de Jong - who was beaten in French Open qualifying but reinstated as a 'lucky loser'.
He will face Spanish 27th seed Rafael Jodar in the last-eight.

Alexander Zverev thought about a between-the-legs shot there but decided to leave the ball and it was the right decision as it dropped out.
Two points later and the German second seed has the double break with a superb forehand winner across court which Jesper de Jong can only admire.
Zverev will now serve for a place in the quarter-finals.

There were a couple of superb winners in that game from the German, who watched a Jesper de Jong lob drift over his head and land out on break point.

A routine service hold to love at the start of the third set for Alexander Zverev, who has only dropped the one set on his way to the fourth round at Roland Garros.
If he can get this done in straight sets and conserve as much energy as possible for the rest of the tournament, that would surely only improve his chances of clinching that first major title.

Her next opponent will either be Swiss player Jil Teichmann or Russian eighth seed Mirra Andreeva, who was just two years old when Cirstea first reached the French Open quarter-finals in 2009.
Teichmann and Andreeva have just got under way on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.

Zverev takes them at the first opportunity as De Jong is unable to return a rasping forehand into his toes.

I've watched so many of Alexander Zverev's matches during his career and I actually do admire his work ethic - because I see what he does on the practice court and with fitness, and the team he's put around it - and I think he's so determined, and you underestimate him at your peril.
But he has put in some horror performances, interspersed with some amazing performances - even though he's been unbelievably consistent.
That serve problem and the forehand problem can rear its ugly head at any moment, and you just don't know when it's going to come, and that's what makes me doubt him a little bit for this title.
