What a Grand Final we have seen today.

York Valkyrie pick up their third Women's Super League title in four years by holding off Wigan Warriors with a pitch-perfect second-half defensive display.

It was tense, tight, classy and at times controversial.

What a game from York. They defended for their lives tonight.

Everyone wrote this York Valkyrie side off and they've come here to Wigan, spoiled the party from being back-to-back treble winners and they've won it in another team's back yard for a second time.

Amelie Lenham was my player of the match. She stopped three tries from Wigan from an international. She's got such a big journey in the game to come. She was absolutely outstanding.

There's huge celebrations as the York players head towards their travelling supporters.

The York players head over to the podium and captain Sinead Peach holds the trophy aloft in front of her team-mates!

What a moment for the whole squad. Fireworks go off inside the Brick Community Stadium.

And here come the winners, York Valkyrie walk to the podium and collect their winners medals.

The trophy presentation will now follow as the runners-up Wigan receive their medals.

A final of real quality from both sets of players.

A word on young player Amelie Lenham, who was wonderful in her defensive efforts today, preventing three certain Wigan tries in the York backline.

She is named the player of the match and thanks her mum, dad, and friends in her post-match interview.

Leon Pryce looks like he played the 80 minutes himself, puffing his cheeks out with relief.

His players showed some incredible grit, determination, and class to see that game out.

York have done it! These are extraordinary scenes as all members of the Valkyrie playing and coaching staff run on to the field.

York coach Leon Pryce and Tara-Jane Stanley, who missed the game after failing a HIA, look extremely emotional.

This means everything to them.

It's a forward pass and York get the ball back.

They then receive a penalty for a high tackle from Wigan's Georgia Jones.

York kick to touch and Wigan will have the ball back in their own half.

York coach Leon Pryce is on the touchline - he cannot look right now.

Anna Davies knocks on for Wigan. Three and a half minutes left. York are so close now.

A nice move from Wigan who shift the ball left.

Molly Jones breaks through but she is caught up by more good scrambling York defending.

Wigan still have the ball though, 10 out.
