Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that half-back Brodie Croft is to leave the club at the end of the season.

The club had been in talks with the 28-year-old Australian over extending his contract but he has now informed them he has agreed a deal elsewhere.

Croft, who joined the Rhinos from Salford in 2024, was linked with a move to Warrington last week and sporting director Ian Blease said the player wanted "to play his rugby closer to his home in the north west".

"All parties have tried to work on ways around this, but at the end of the day Brodie has made the decision he feels is right for himself and his family, and I fully respect that," Blease told the club website.

"It is an unfortunate part of professional sport that things like this have to be dealt with during the season, but as always it also creates an opportunity for us for next season."

The 2022 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel winner has scored 13 tries in 11 matches this campaign.
