The Bournemouth boss picked up 21% of the votes, pipping Frank Lampard (20%) and Cesc Fabregas (19%) to the gig.

Coming in just behind was 'Other,' (14%) who will undoubtedly get a great gig in the future.

You have to look at the underlying problems, a lot of the underlying problems [at Chelsea] are why have you not got any leadership on the pitch? The initial ideology was you'd get all these young players in, there's a lot of people saying wait a minute, you need somebody who has been through this before, to help these youngsters come through but there doesn't seem to be anyone like that at the club.

That's the question you want to ask [as a manager], what situation do I want to be in? Because Chelsea change really quickly, Conte, Mourinho, Tuchel. This situation, do you want to be coach? Yes I want to be the coach and manage Chelsea but the thing is going to be now, how much impact can I have? How much of a say do I have because if they [the board] always dictate what I want, recruit players that I don't want.

The recruitment of players at a club is very important for the manager they want to bring in and when they bring a manager, they have to ask themselves what kind of effect can I have on the recruitment and on the team? If you don't have any say on it as a big manager, it is going to be tough. No big manager doesn't want a say.

A number of high-profile coaches are currently without clubs.

Xabi Alonso is among the standout names after leaving Real Madrid by mutual consent in January 2026, with links to several Premier League sides.

Zinedine Zidane, who won three Champions League titles with Real Madrid, has been out of work since 2021.

Gareth Southgate is also available after leaving his England post in July 2024.

Ruben Amorim, who was sacked by Manchester United in January, is out of work, while former Germany head coach Joachim Low is another experienced option.

The last manager Chelsea had before Rosenior, Enzo Maresca, is also on the market.

Chelsea fan Alex Churchill on the Football Daily podcast: "In terms of who takes the job long-term, I think already we are not going to get a top manager.

"Even if you are a mid-range manager, looking at the club and looking at the way it's run and I'm not even going to contemplate taking the job until the structure in it changes. I think the sporting directors need to go, they are woefully out of their depth.

"Honestly, if I am Iraola or someone else and I've got a proven track record in the Premier League then I am going to be like, if they are still there, then probably not because the same thing keeps happening."

This is the fourth season the new ownership has been in. This is manager number six. You change it that amount of times, you have to ask the question - is the problem really the manager?

I try not to get too upset or annoyed or angry about it, but I do get upset for the Chelsea fans because we are all talking about Liam Rosenior just now. It shouldn't be a surprise. He clearly didn't have the team playing for him. The team spirit wasn't there.

I was at the Everton game surrounded by six international players that played for Everton. Every one of them said the same thing: 'no leadership, no spirit'. You can say that's the manager, or you can say is this thing working?

They weren't buying the manager and they aren't buying the ideology. It's not a small problem for Liam Rosenior. If you think that's the problem, and you're a Chelsea fan, you are deluding yourself. It's something much bigger and wider.

You have to look at the underlying problems. Why is there no leadership on the pitch? The initial ideology was to get all these young players in.

You need people that have been through this before to help the youngsters through.

There doesn't seem to be anyone like that at the club. It doesn't mean, because it's novel that it's wrong, but it doesn't look great, does it?

Oliver Glasner announced that he will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season after helping Crystal Palace to their first trophy - an achievement that will have him in demand.

Marco Silva is also approaching the end of his deal at Fulham, having led the club back to the top flight and overseen a record Premier League points tally last season.

Andoni Iraola will depart AFC Bournemouth this summer and said in his recent news conference that he will do so with no job lined up - maybe this will now change?

Athletic Club manager Ernesto Valverde will leave the La Liga side upon the conclusion of the 2025-26 season and his experience could be something Chelsea need right now, though the Spaniard has never managed in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino will guide World Cup co-hosts United States national team at the tournament, with the Argentine continuing to attract interest from clubs despite mixed recent spells in Europe and having already had one unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge.

I think the club needs to slow down a little bit because it is not just the coaches they decide on really quickly, also the players they get in really quickly. Everything goes quick. Sometimes when you do things quick, a quick fix, it's still going to leak somewhere else. I think, that is Chelsea's biggest thing now.

It does not look like a team now, it was when they were building it when Maresca was there. Now, it has started to shake off.

Well, since you mentioned him...

Filipe Luis is the current favourite to be the next man in the hot seat after Chelsea sacked Liam Rosenior - according to the bookmakers, that is.

Luis joined Atletico Madrid as a player in 2012 and won four trophies before spending a year at Chelsea in 2014, winning the Premier League under Jose Mourinho before returning to the Spanish side.

He then joined Brazilian giants Flamengo as a free agent in 2019 - where he spent four-and-a-half years before retiring from professional football in 2023.

As a manager, the 40-year-old returned to his former club Flamengo - serving as the head coach of the first team from September 2024 to March 2026.

Incredibly, he has averaged a trophy every 14 games, leading Flamengo to seven titles in his 100 matches in charge, guiding Flamengo to Copa Libertadores glory in 2025.

In doing so, Luis became the ninth man to win the competition both as a player and as a coach, having claimed the trophy twice with Flamengo in 2019 and 2022.

He also claimed Serie A, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa do Brasil, Campeonato Carioca, Fifa Challenger Cup and Fifa Derby of the Americas honours during his tenure, having previously led Flamengo's Under-17 and Under-20 sides to league titles.

In March of this year, Luis was dismissed of his role after the club had recorded an 8-0 win to reach the Campeonato Carioca final.
