Right then, I think that will do us from presser one of many at the Atrium Health Performance Park here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

John McGinn in fine form, scroll back through this live page to check out his best bits.

There will be plenty more from us here stateside into the night and waiting for you when you wake in the morning.

It's all getting very, very real...

  2. 'Look after number one'published at 18:21 BST

Genuinely, there was a rather large contingent of Norwegian media in the press conference.

That's, of course, after Steve Clarke was branded "unprofessional" byNorway counterpart Stale Solbakken after the Scotland head coach cancelled a training-ground friendly here.

"Our job's to look after Scotland, Norway's job is to look after Norway," McGinn said.

"If they've done their research, we lost a very important part of the squad, very, very close to this camp, it had a huge impact on everyone and we didn't want to lose another.

"We've had a few niggles, not everyone's been training, so I think it's a professional way of handling things to be perfectly honest.

"We have to look after number one and I'm sure every single country will be doing the exact same this summer."

  4. 'We all want Scotland to be successful'published at 18:14 BST

And some potential big moments to come for some youngsters in the squad.

"If these boys get a chance to get their jersey whether that's mine, McTominay's, Che's, make it theirs to keep and that's what you want in any club, any nation," McGinn said.

"We all want the one thing and that's the country to be successful so the young players aren't here to add to the numbers, to make up the numbers, they're here to make an impact and start their own careers with Scotland and if that means taking someone out of the team, that's what we all want at the end of the day."

A big moment for some locals earlier.

Kids from the nearby Charlotte Secondary School were in attendance for Community Day at Atrium Health Performance Park.

Pupils watched Steve Clarke and his squad take to the training field for the first time and hung about a bit to sign autographs and take pictures and the likes.

  6. 'Big players for big moments'published at 18:08 BST

"Personally I'll do certain things differently," McGinn expanded on righting the wrongs from previous campaigns.

"I didn't play at my best in the last two major tournaments alongside probably some others in the group and these games, these tournaments you need your big players to pick them up in big moments.

"I think now I'll enjoy the excitement building up to it, but as it gets closer to the games I'll focus on the game and not the occasion and that's what I've learned not only at club level but international level.

"The more big experiences and big games you're involved in you certainly adapt. You learn things that don't work and you learn things that work and I feel as if I'm more ready to prepare for these big games."

  7. 'Scotland at a World Cup can turn up heat even more'published at 18:04 BST

"think it feels different to last week because you're starting to get used to it," John McGinn said on the heat here in Charlotte.

"Last week your hands are on your knees and you see clips of England training, those boys are the same, so it's about trying to adapt as quickly as possible.

"But when the real stuff starts on Saturday it doesn't matter what temperature it is, Scotland at a World Cup can turn it up even more.

"We're just absolutely delighted to be a part of it after so long and if we can just keep raising those standards every day, we'll give ourselves the best possible chance of doing something we haven't done before."

A different question and a decent answer.

    A thought provoker.

Our Tom English noted that Prince William was in the dressing room after Aston Villa's Europa League win, and asked which Scotsman he'd like to have in the dressing room on Saturday.

After a bit of thought, "Bob Macintyre".

"He could give me some tips on my putting!"

It's in relation to the young players coming in and "making an impact".

Thommo told a young John McGinn to "keep a hold of the jersey" once he had it.

He's telling the young ones to do the same.
