"We got to the quarter-finals of the League Cup and were beaten by Man City," he said.
"We tried to find the balance between how many substitutions we made, how many players rotated in and out on any given week, and then the challenge of the schedule and the depth of your squad.
"But now we feel like we're in a good place to attack the domestic competitions on a really good level."
