An approach is yet to be made to Southampton for attacker Sam Edozie that satisfies both the player and club. It is understood that the winger has so far had one formal offer from Cardiff City which the player rejected An enquiry was also made earlier in the window by another club at €2m (£1.7m) which never developed into a bid and fell well below Southampton’s valuation.

It remains to be seen if the club will be able to complete a deal for Edozie to depart before tonight’s deadline with the player keen for a new challenge.

West Ham have picked up a few signings recently but it's clear the defence is in real trouble this season already! Could definitely do with someone coming in with some experience there.

    James in Faringdon

West Ham desperately need a CB and a LB, but we also need to clear out our deadwood. We have several players refusing to play and wanting out.

As a West Ham fan, this window has been bizarre. Apart from Potts, none of the sales have been surprising but we’ve got good money for everyone. And yet we haven’t addressed our awful defence or ineffective midfield at all. No leadership, pace or creativity, which we’ve needed for years.

    Dave in the Cotswolds

Wout Faes' deal to West Ham is falling through. He and his agent must be asking for silly terms as that's a great move for all concerned.

    Nick in Norwich

When it's clear to everyone that West Ham urgently need a left-back, central defender and a holding midfielder, there seems to be not a whisper coming out of the club today. Not sure I'll be staying up until 11pm.

  4. West Ham break EFL record for Engelspublished at 13:30 BST

    Deadline day

    West Ham United

West Ham are tipped to win the Championship title and return to the Premier League this year but it's not going so well after three matches and no wins.

The side were boosted by the retention of captain Jarrod Bowen (though the day isn't over yet!) and he'll be joined by seven new players this season:

Would love to see Saints get a new CB but I don’t think we’ll see anything from them.

    Corey in Isle of Wight

I think if Saints were to sell Taylor Harwood-Bellis, we would have to use that money quickly and try to get a good replacement quick.

My team Lincoln are sniffing around right-backs/right wing-backs with captain Tendayi Darikwa ruled out for the season last week. Being linked with Ipswich's Chiedozie Ogbene and Hellas Verona's Daniel Ogeyoke over the weekend. Up The Imps!

    Simon in Staines

Looks like two in for Lincoln - Ogbene from Ipswich and Oyegoke from Hellas Verona. Could still do with some creativity in midfield for me but looks unlikely

  7. Lincoln set a club recordpublished at 13:10 BST

    Deadline day

    Lincoln City

Lincoln City set a club record fee for striker Mikkel Ladefoged as they look to make an impression on the second tier.

They've already won their first match since April 1961 and here are the eight players invited this summer to help them keep doing so:

Wolves - where are you? Final day of the transfer window and not a sound coming out of the club. We do need to strengthen our defence.

    Mike in Northamptonshire

I would like more depth in the forward positions, but the most important thing for Wolves is the lack of outgoings to key players. If we can keep the likes of Sa, Krejci, Bueno and Lopez, we should be set for a promotion challenge.

    Nick in Wolverhampton

  9. Brooks thriving at Norwichpublished at 13:00 BST

    Deadline day

    Norwich City

Norwich City boss Philippe Clement has already said the side are keeping hold of striker Mo Toure no matter the offer but it's not just the Australian who impressed in their huge victory over Burnley on the weekend.

Double scorer Andre Brooks is one of five new additions to the side:

    Deadline day

Swansea City winger Zeidane Inoussa is heading for fellow Championship side Portsmouth.

Inoussa, 24, joined Swansea for a significant fee from Swedish club BK Hacken last summer.

The former Sweden Under-21 international scored once in 29 appearances during an injury-hit first season at Swansea, but he will join Pompey on loan for the remainder of the season.

Following the additions of Moussa Yeo and Joseph Opoku this summer, plus the imminent arrival of Manchester City youngster Jeremy Monga, Swansea are willing to let Inoussa depart.

He is under contract at the Welsh club until 2030.

Reading have signed some good players but when the owner states the aim this season is promotion we could've made some better signings. The manager has also been saying he needs to be backed in pretty much every pre and post match interview. Expecting outgoings today though.
