What a way to head into the international break.

We had a tense Black Country derby in which Wolves edged 1-0 past West Brom for their first league win on home soil against the Baggies since 2011.

And then Norwich City and Bolton served up a seven-goal thriller to round things off.

The Canaries were on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat for a second weekend in a row, as Wanderers picked up a vital win and their first away victory of the season.

It will be three weeks until we are back in action in the second tier but we do have League One and League Two football coming your way next weekend in the EFL.

Here's how things stand after another weekend of chaos in the Championship.

Wolves are up to fourth and have a game in hand on the three teams above them, including Swansea City who lead the way.

West Brom drop to fifth after losing the Black Country derby.

Bolton have climbed six places from 21st to 15th after their 4-3 win at Norwich, who drop to 17th.

QPR away in March 2019 was the last time Bolton won on the road in the Championship before today!

Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto speaking to Sky Sports:

"It was a very important result but I think the way that we won is amazing. It was a great game and a great effort from the lads.

"Congratulations to them, the victory is for them and our supporters, it was an important game for them also.

"I think we deserved the win. We were the better team, we created more chances.

"I think we can score more goals, but we played well. We have soul, organisation and we have quality and we put it all on the pitch to win this game."

We look at this in terms of scoring three goals at home and you expect to win the game, but we turned the ball over too easily

That gives any team chances to score.

When the game started to open up you can see the chances but we never took them.

Boos ring around Carrow Road as Bolton win away from home for the first time in the Championship this season.

Norwich City have been involved in a seven-goal thriller and lost 4-3 for the second league game in a row.

Atsuki Ito with the decisive strike for Bolton in the 72nd-minute just moments after he came on.

A late chance for Norwich as a ball comes into the box and it's nodded back across the face of goal but no-one is there to stick it away.

Time is almost up.

Ben Chrisene has come back on for Norwich by the way, so they're not ending this with nine players.

The Canaries win a corner but cannot do anything with it and now some reprieve for Bolton as the offside flag goes up.

Ben Chrisene is back on his feet for Norwich clutching his right arm. Is he going to soldier on? He might have to.

This doesn't look good for Norwich.

They're already down to 10 men with Kenny McLean going off injured just now with no substitute windows left for Philippe Clement.

And now Ben Chrisene is down in some pain. Norwich may be down to nine in a minute.

Bolton can take the game out of Norwich's hands now. Norwich can't score if they don't have the ball.

They are going to press and they'll be very much dependant on Bolton giving them the ball back.

Norwich captain Kenny McLean has picked up an injury and walked off down the tunnel.

And now the Canaries will have to finish the game with 10 men because the hosts have used all three of their substitution windows.

The frenetic nature of this game has just slowed up a touch, which might suit Bolton now to be honest.

Wanderers are just sitting in a bit more and trying to keep it slightly tighter than it has been for the past 85 minutes.
