1. Wilkinson scores four as Rangers demolish Spartanspublished at 18:36 BST

    Four goals from Katy Wilkinson helped Rangers to a convincing home win over newly-promoted Spartans.

    An early own goal by visitors' captain Robyn McCafferty started the rout, before two quick fire goals from Wilkinson put Rangers three up inside 16 minutes.

    Rangers were relentless, and soon added to their lead as Calliste Brookshire scored her second of the season.

    Wilkinson then claimed her hat trick as Rangers cruised to a five-goal half-time lead.

    Rangers and Wilkinson weren’t done there, though, and early in the second half last season‘s top scorer netted another.

    The home side continued to pile on the pressure and soon were seven up as Laura Berry sealed an emphatic win for Leanne Crichton‘s side.

  2. Defending champions Hearts maintain 100% startpublished at 18:30 BST

    Hearts continued the defence of their SWPL crown in impressive fashion, as they won 5-0 at Motherwell.

    Two first-half goals by Monica Forsyth and one in each half from Carly Johns helped the champions to an another big win.

    Forsyth nodded in her first after seven minutes, with Johns soon doubling their lead.

    Hearts heaped on the pressure and were rewarded with another before half time. Forsyth this time with a perfectly-placed effort.

    Carly Girasoli‘s strike midway through the second half, along with Johns’ second of the game, sealed another impressive win for Hearts, but it was another heavy defeat for Motherwell.

  3. Hunter double helps Hibs win at Thistlepublished at 16:14 BST

    Partick Thistle 1-3 Hibernian

    Hibernian continued their winning start to the new SWPL season, as they beat Partick Thistle 3-1 away from home.

    Siobhan Hunter scored a headers in each half to help her side to another three points, with Hibs third coming courtesy of an own goal.

    Her first came 10 minutes before half time, as she headed in from Ellis Notley's corner.

    Sienna McGoldrick pulled one back for Thistle with a terrific long range effort.

    But Hibs reclaimed the lead just before half time. Another Notley ball in from the corner, with Thistle's Sophie Timlin getting the final touch.

    Hunter then claimed her second of the afternoon with another header to claim victory for Hibs.

  4. City bounce back to win at Aberdeenpublished at 16:01 BST

    Glasgow City bounced back from their opening-day defeat with a comfortable 3-0 win at Aberdeen.

    After a disappointing display in goal last weekend, Erin Clackers came in for Lee Gibson, but she was rarely troubled.

    The home side were ahead after 14 minutes, Kelly Brady grabbing heir first goal since her move to City. Lisa Forrest showed good feet before floating in a lovely ball for Brady to head in.

    Forrest was at it again early in the second half, as she played the ball across the face of goal and Emily Gray was there for an easy tap in.

    City dominated and could have added more before Erin McLaughlin wrapped up a convincing victory with eight minutes left.

  5. Celtic strike three late goals to beat Montrosepublished at 15:40 BST

    Celtic made it back to back SWPL wins, as they beat Montrose, but despite the 3-0 scoreline the win didn't come easily.

    After being thwarted by the woodwork three times in a frustrating first half, Celtic then struggled to get the better of the visiting goalkeeper Lauren Perry, who produced a few fine saves to keep the home side at bay.

    Grant Scott made changes midway through the second half, and it was one of the substitutions who finally broke the deadlock, Casey Howe scoring with powerful shot on 82 minutes.

    Montrose no doubt felt aggrieved at conceding so late. Not only had they played well, but before that they had goal disallowed for handball in the build up.

    After their opener Celtic added another two strikes. Maria McAney curled in a cracker, then Issy Fisher sealed the win with a beauty from distance.
