  3. Wharton injury 'not so serious'published at 22:56 BST 16 April

FT: Fiorentina 2-1 Crystal Palace (2-4 agg)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, speaking to TNT Sports: "Quarter-final is never easy and we made it a bit tougher than it needed to be. Fiorentina got the belief back with the penalty. It was a very difficult game to manage to be honest. We subbed Jean-Philippe Mateta at half-time and the team showed great resilience today. The team worked hard and stuck together and over the two games we deserved to play the semi-final.

On injuries to Adam Wharton and Maxence Lacroix: "Adam is an abductor [injury], like when he had to leave the England camp. Let's see, it doesn't look so serious but we have to assess him further. Maxence was foot to foot contact and then he felt his knee, the medial ligament so let's see but it is painful. Unfortunately we play in four days again but credit to the players that came in. Today we are celebrating going to the semi-finals, it is a massive achievement for the players and for Crystal Palace and we are enjoying tonight."

On facing Shakhtar Donetsk: "I didn't watch them but I saw the line up, I think they started with six Brazilian players, I expect them to be a very technical side. We will start to prepare watching the games they have played. Of course in between we play West Ham and Liverpool and we want to do well in the Premier League."

Great end to season? "Of course, that is what we all want. We want to enjoy our life together, not just the football. The more successful you are, the more you enjoy your life. When you play the semi-final, you want to get it all at the end and that's what we will go for."

Everybody was perfect tonight, every player played their part and they are deservedly going through to the semi-final of the Europa League.

They fully deserve to enjoy this moment, they worked really hard. It is about believing and I think these players do now believe that they can make it to that final.

Aston Villa captain John McGinn, speaking to TNT Sports: "We needed to get the first goal, it was very important. They are a dangerous team away from home. A great first half gets us to a semi-final, I'm delighted.

"They press you aggressively. Last week we didn't pass it forward enough."

On Ollie Watkins' 100th goal for Villa: "It's a great achievement for a massive club."

On Morgan Rogers: "He'll be disappointed with the penalty but he's a big player for Villa and England. He showed he can bounce back from disappointing moments. Thankfully tonight he didn't get a yellow card [to trigger a suspension] and others didn't too."

Crystal Palace captain Dean Henderson, speaking to TNT Sports: "This is unbelievable for this football club, sensational when you think the FA Cup last season and then to keep going and create a new chapter. It's phenomenal."

On the fans: "They have stuck by us in the difficult times this season and hopefully we can go and deliver something really special."

On working hard for the result: "It was a tough game, really tough. 3-0 is a dangerous score and you don't really know how it will go. We managed to get through so who cares."

On if Palace can go and win it: "Of course, that's what the aim is. The togetherness in the group is phenomenal and at the business end of the season, we come together. We've just got to keep pushing on and build momentum."

On how Vitor Pereira manages the squad and injuries over the coming weeks:

He is quite a charismatic guy and you hear that the players get on really well with him. Ultimately he has to get a song out of them and he has got to find a way for each individual to perform. This is the business end of the season. As a player if you can't get up for this then you shouldn't be in football.

Isn't it conceivable Forest may win the Europa League AND get relegated from the Premier League in the same season? Champions League and Championship at the same time, they could end up playing Lincoln and Real Madrid in the same week.

Graham: Glasner has been superb for Palace in the PL and Europe. I really like his modest, under-stated approach and his realistic analysis of what's best for the club. All his big calls have been vindicated. Best of luck to him next season.

Where will Oliver Glasner be managing next season?

One thing's for sure, his stock is on the rise.

If he delivers the Conference League trophy for Crystal Palace, Glasner will surely have clubs queuing up for his services.

Will he still be managing in the Premier League next season?

Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, speaking to TNT Sports: "Very exciting, I feel like we deserve it over the course of the season and it is very exciting. Some people think we went into this as a consequence because we got demoted [from the Europa League] but we went into this with our heads held high and we ultimately want to win the competition so we are very excited for another set of games.

"It was a hostile environment and we started off strong and then we conceded and they had the momentum for the rest of the game. In the second half they came out and scored so kudos to them, they had a really good game but we did what we had to do to get the win on aggregate in the end."

On injuries to Maxence Lacroix and Adam Wharton: "No insider information but the two guys who did go down are usually pretty strong so I'm sure that it will be gone in the next few days but who knows."

On facing Shakhtar Donetsk next: "Haven't thought about that, we're enjoying this evening. To be the best you have to beat the best so ultimately we are going to go in there and put in two good performances, win and get to the final. But we know that we have two games in front of us before that."

The game should have been done in the first half when the initial sending off happened and Forest had a lot of chances. Performance wise it was not great in the second half but it is a results-oriented business. At the end of the day tonight was about getting the result and getting through, and if they keep doing that between now and the end of the season then everyone here will be buzzing.

Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira, speaking to TNT Sports: "I have a fantastic team, it's not about the manager. They have the spirit, character and quality. They deserve it. The club and the supporters they deserve it.

"We need to suffer together and we need to feel proud at the end of a game. Feel proud about the supporters and about the result on the pitch."

On injuries: "Only Callum [Hudson-Odoi] was a muscular injury. We don't know. The other two I think they will recover."

On next game against Burnley in Premier League: "It starts now in the dressing room. After this game we start to speak about the next game. We don't have time to celebrate. Time to recover, come back again, mentally strong. I prefer to come with a win - the motivation is different. It will be a tough game, we need our supporters again. We need to go again as a family."

On Morgan Gibbs-White: "Fantastic player but we had chances in the first half to decide the game. When you don't score after it's difficult.

On facing Aston Villa in next round: "Just Burnley in my head at the moment! It's too much to think Villa too. I will think about it after Burnley."

On rumours linking Morgan Rogers with a big money move away from Aston Villa:

Rogers got the assist for the first goal and the stadium went bonkers, they know how important his involvement is. His numbers are great, he could be playing number ten for England at the World Cup, all those sorts of things do add up to a big price tag, but he is doing some excellent things for Villa right now.
