Derry City ended their seven-game winless run as they came from behind to beat Bohemians 4-1 in the Premier Division at Celtic Park.

Harry Vaughan gave Bohs the lead on 17 minutes with a venomous effort from range, before James Clarke equalised against his former employers.

Three goals in eight second-half minutes sealed the win for the Candystripes; Conor Barr's marked his first goal for his hometown club with a wonder-strike, before another from Clarke and one from Kevin Dos Santos rounded off the victory.

Clarke had a chance to complete his hat-trick, but had a late penalty saved.

Dawson Devoy started for Bohemians fresh off the back of his senior international debut in the Republic of Ireland's 1-1 friendly draw with Canada.

The match also brought an end to the Candystripes' five-game stay at Celtic Park, the home of Derry GAA.

They will return to the Brandywell for their next home fixture against Drogheda United on 26 June, following the completion of a new hybrid grass pitch installation.

The visitors almost took the lead inside the opening 90 seconds, Dayle Rooney's free-kick was sent back into the danger-zone by the head of Cian Byrne and only the crossbar denied Patrick Hickey's audacious back-heel.

At the other end, Clarke found Michael Duffy inside the area, but his effort was straight down the throat of debutant goalkeeper Paul Walters.

Bohs did hit the front in spectacular fashion on 17 minutes, Vaughan playing a one-two with Ross Tierney before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top-left corner of the net from 25 yards, giving Eddie Beach no chance.

That lead was almost doubled minutes later, as Beach stopped Rooney's low driven effort from just inside the box.

Tiernan Lynch's side were level on 24 minutes, against the run of play as Dos Santos seized on a poor pass from Sadou Diallo, before finding Clarke in acres of space, who showed real composure to score against his former club.

That goal helped the home side grow in confidence and Duffy was denied again by Walters, before Cameron Dummigan blasted wide from inside the area from the resulting corner.

Ten minutes into the second half, Derry did take the lead, Barr unleashing a thunderbolt into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

On the hour mark, Clarke got his second of the game, following up his initial effort which struck to post to give the Candystripes a 3-1 lead.

Home fans were then in delirium three minutes later, James Olayinka intercepting the ball in the middle of the park, finding Duffy on the left who squared to Dos Santos to score.

Clarke had a chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Zane Myers, who was just on as substitute, fouled Brandon Fleming, but the midfielder had has his spot-kick saved by Walters.

Derry City travel to Pearse Stadium, the home of Galway GAA to take on Galway United next while Bohs return to Dalymount Park to take on Dundalk.
