Hamilton Academical overcame play-off final opponents Clyde to preserve their Scottish League 1 status.
Accies, who finished second bottom of the third tier after points deductions totalling 21 for a series of rule breaches, fell 2-1 behind on aggregate when Kai Smutek headed in an early own goal at a corner.
Tony Gallacher nodded Hamilton level from Ewan Simpson's corner and, from a subsequent delivery, Oli Shaw headed down for Kyle MacDonald to nod in and put Darian MacKinnon's side ahead.
Barry Cuddihy almost levelled when he headed powerfully against the crossbar but Kyle Connell did volley Clyde's second in first-half added time.
The first goal of the night from open play was MacDonald's second, a low strike from the edge of the box, but Clyde came back with Logan Dunachie nodding in from Connell's throw-in.
But yet another set-piece goal gave Accies a 4-3 lead on the night and 5-4 advantage on aggregate as Simpson set up Gallacher again.
Darren Young's Clyde could not recover and the Bully Wee miss out on promotion. They finished third in League 2 and beat runners-up Spartans in the semi-final. They had trailed in Tuesday's first leg against Hamilton before sealing a 1-1 draw.
Accies, who came under new ownership in January, had beaten Forfar Athletic in their semi-final and are planning to return to New Douglas Park next season, having played at Clyde's former home Broadwood Stadium this term. Clyde have played at New Douglas Park this season.
