It's a game of opinions, Stephen. Don't think many would disagree Dominik Szoboszlai was Liverpool's best player last season but, this campaign, Keith's view is not too uncommon.

There's talk of whether he suits playing as one of two deeper lying midfielders, slowing play down too much and not passing progressively enough.

But then he clearly has plenty to offer, not least that remarkable engine of his.

Keith - I think you are losing it. Szoboszlai has been our best player for the past 2 seasons. Never stops running and offers an attacking threat and tracks back. Can’t ask more from a midfielder than that!

  3. Nyoni impresses againpublished at 18:42 GMT

Trey Nyoni completed the most line-breaking passes (11), the most passes (52) and passes in the final third (16) of any player in the first half.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been very impressive and this is where I'd slightly disagree with Stephen Warnock, I think Nyoni's been Liverpool's best player so far.

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

There are lots of positives for Liverpool. Rio Ngumoha has been their best player, Munoz has been decent and Nyoni has done well.

Liverpool are doing well when they come forward and have had all the possession... but, on the flip side, they are still getting battered on the counter-attack.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

If you didn’t know and I said Liverpool paid £34.5m for Barcola and £106m for Munoz you wouldn’t question it.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:35 GMT

    Fenerbahce 1-1 Liverpool

Time for one last Liverpool attack before the break as Bradley Barcola gets to the bye-line and pulls it back but Victor Munoz can't divert the ball goalwards.

The offside flag goes up but replays show Barcola may have been level so that could well have counted.

Anyway, it's all square at half-time with Fenerbahce finishing the half much stronger after Liverpool's impressive start.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:35 GMT

    AEK Athens 1-1 Real Madrid

Level at the break in Athens.

AEK raced out of the blocks and dominated the opening 10 minutes, with a lovely finish from Aboubakary Koita giving them the lead.

But it's been all Real Madrid since and Jude Bellingham's sublime flicked finish sends them into the break on level terms.

The home side push forward again as Romelu Lukaku slips the ball through to Mason Greenwood.

He gets the shot away and Alisson does well to push it behind for a corner.

Another threatening Fenerbahce attack breaks down on the edge of the box and Alisson gratefully clutches the ball to his chest.

You wouldn't have thought it after 25 minutes of domination but Liverpool could do with the half-time whistle here.

Every time Szoboszlai plays in midfield we look more vulnerable. Not sure what he offers to the team other than the occasional spectacular goal.

Liverpool need to consider Gomez at left-back again. Defence needs to be solidified.

Fenerbahce win a corner as they continue to make life difficult for Liverpool.

They've really come to life since falling behind and haven't stopped since equalising.

Trey Nyoni has been excellent for Liverpool but he's caught in possession on the edge of his own box here and Fenerbahce work the ball to Mason Greenwood.

The striker works half a yard but drags the left-footed shot wide.

Love Munoz in the team. So direct and always wants to beat his man. May not have the tricks of Rio but he has dynamite in his boots.

Fenerbahce deal with a couple of corners before another ball is dinked in and Bradley Barcola gets his head to it.

It sneaks just wide but Ederson was a little worried for a moment.

He races past his man yet again before a second defender comes across to concede the corner.

This ground has burst into life after that Fenerbahce equaliser. Liverpool have been really good but this will be a solid test now because the Turkish side have grown in confidence after the leveller.

Great half of football so far.
