Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Scotland: "I was forced with the changes. There's a lot of games, a lot of managing minutes. We had to make two changes at half-time in Benfica.
"Others have to be ready to fill in those positions, even when it's not their favourite position. But they want to make it work.
"When you're not disappointed, it's not a good sign. So, there's been disappointment for sure, especially over those last two goals.
"We have to take the positives and also the negatives. We showed some good things in Aberdeen but in the end, we lost. The result gives extra confidence and that's what we need for our mental state."

For new Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken, games like this one today against Dundee United are where he can truly be judged. Heavy defeats against Sturm Graz and Benfica are painful but the manner of the loss at Pittodrie last weekend will also hurt.
The home fans will be looking for all three points this afternoon but a victory is far from guaranteed.
Jim Goodwin has pulled together another new squad over the summer and there was a lot to like about them in their opening draw at home to Rangers.
Keeping a clean sheet has been an issue for both teams so fingers crossed for goals this afternoon.

Motherwell boss Alfred Johansson has made three changes from the team that started the 1-1 draw against HJK Helsinki in Finland on Thursday night.
Jamie Knight-Lebel makes his first start since joining on loan from Bristol City in the summer, he replaces Jake Girdwood-Reich in defence.
Mikey Booth gets his first senior start while Ibrahim Said returns after missing out midweek. Alex Lowry and Regan Charles-Cook are the pair replaced.

It's just the one change for Jim Goodwin's Dundee United after a solid performance in the opening weekend draw against Rangers.
Australian Daniel Bennie - who is on loan from Queen's Park Rangers and qualifies to play for Scotland - makes a first start, replacing countryman Zac Sapsford in the line-up.
Will Ferry also starts, amid reported interest in the United left-back.
Dylan Tait, the summer signing from Falkirk, continues to wear the armband with Ross Graham named among the subs.

With six out of nine senior defenders unavailable through injury or suspension, Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken names a makeshift back four.
Midfielder Oisin McEntee starts next to Jamie McCart at centre-half, the latter coming in for the suspended Stuart Findlay.
Calvin Miller starts at left-back with Harry Milne missing, which means Blair Spittal takes the armband in midfield. He plays alongside Tom Renaud, who makes a first start after scoring against Benfica midweek.
McCart and Renaud are two of five changes, with Sabah Kerjota, Josh McPake and Amadou Ba-Sy starting. It's also a first start for McPake.
Milne is not even on the bench and neither is Alexandros Kyziridis, who started on Thursday in Lisbon.

It's a really strange set up from Kilmarnock.
Celtic are playing with Camilo Duran high up the pitch, Kasper Hogh high up the pitch, and Yang Hyun-jun high up the pitch, and Kilmarnock are going man-for-man, three-v-three.

Rangers lost their last league meeting with Hibernian 1-2 at Ibrox in May but haven’t lost successive top-flight matches against Hibs since November 2005 under Alex McLeish.
Hibernian have won two of their last three league visits to Rangers (L1) and could win successive trips in the top-flight for just the fourth time, previously doing so in September 1902, October 1985, and February 2018.
There’s been 35 goals scored in Rangers’ last seven league games at Ibrox, an average of five per game. Their most recent game was a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian in May – they’ve never lost consecutive home league games against the same team both times. They last duplicated the same result and opponent in April/August 1990, back-to-back wins against Dunfermline.
The last six results in Hibernian’s Scottish Premiership matches have been away wins – they’ve lost four home games and won their two away games in this streak. The last side to have a longer run was Rangers between February and April 2025 (7), with the seventh game in that run ending Rangers 0-2 Hibernian.
Thelo Aasgaard has scored in each of his last three Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers – the last Gers player with a longer streak was Cyriel Dessers in April and May 2025 (5 in a row).
